But what if Canadian style or Australian style gun control does not work here? Do we place more restrictions firearms and firearms owners?
We never go back. And while you may be fine with going back if the experiment fails others will not be. If it fails people like Bloomberg and Feinstein will be looking for the next weapon to confiscate.
No we need to take care of the kids, the adults, the minorities with disproportionate death rates, those contemplating suicide. We as a country and a society need to take care of all our citizens. I just don't believe more gun control is the way. I have other ideas on how to deal with our national problems.
One big difference is that if it is paranoia it is no big deal but once you realize it is totalitarianism it is too late.
Somebody out there cares enough to get involved. That is why I'm inviting people to PM me and we can work together. The left can try to spin it any way they want, but bottom line: Reagan signed H.R. 4332 (in 1986 IIRC) and that gun control bill had NO effect on crime: https://www.quora.com/Did-Ronald-Re...nd-if-so-what-effect-on-gun-crime-did-it-have We had NO discussion on mental health, drugs and gun violence then In 1989 George Bush signed legislation banning the import of semi automatic weapons. We had NO discussion regarding mental health issues, drugs, and their impact on gun violence In 1994 Bill Clinton signed the Assault Weapons Ban. There was NO discussion regarding mental health and how it relates to gun violence then. That bill failed to get renewed because it did not produce any results. "Over the past three years, 39 states have passed at least 117 new pieces of legislation that make gun laws more strict, according to the Law Center to Prevent Gun Violence" (2012 - 2015.) IN NONE of those cases will you find a discussion about mental health as part of the "discussion" The banners want a semi-auto ban, high cap magazine ban, gun registration, etc. and they will not talk about SSRIs, over-populated prisons, opioids, or mental health issues as a part of the discussion. Then they want to pee down your neck and say that anybody that believes they want to ban all guns is "paranoid." We know there is a correlation between this country's non-existent mental health protocols and gun violence. We know there is a correlation between SSRIs / opioids, and gun violence. Yet if we demand a discussion on this, it is paranoia (sic.) The gun rights lobby needs to get their heads out of their ass and say NO more gun control until we address these issues. Background checks did not stop Adam Lanza; they didn't stop Nicholas Cruz... nor most of the rest of those people who participated in unspeakable carnage. The anti-gunners want more of the same unproductive waste, but they don't want to admit that we could have prevented Cruz, Lanza and most of the others with a better policy toward emotional and mental health issues. The left's denials of the obvious have a hollow ring to them. No more compromise; no more B.S. Let's solve this issue and get beyond gun control.
Yes I'm sure that is it. But the ACA gave mental health benefits to millions of Americans. And the GOP voted to repeal it dozens of times
No, not even close. Everyone yammered Obama Care, Affordable care act, when Medicaid always covered those without other healthcare plans. States like New York always had State run healthcare facilities to provide care for everyone and many clinics funded by Philanthropists and foundations also paying for continuing Medical Education for those volunteers serving the underserved communities with Medical outreach.
To be honest, that is an impressive rant. So much rage, disillusion and delusion or bottled up and released. I am not sure how much you are going to achieve with so much negativity so tightly held on too.
