I agree. It would have been much better to let Qaddafi put down his little rebellion. At least Qaddafi was not exporting terrorism and he made Libya a fairly stable country. Now that we overthrew Qaddafi, Libya has become a safe haven and training ground for terrorist groups like ISIS, AQ and others. Libya has become a launching off place for terrorist attacks on African nations that border Libya's southern border. Libya is now an infiltration route into southern Europe.

We have launched some attacks against ISIS in Libya and according to Secretary of Defense Carter are contemplating and planning more attacks in Libya. Which may or may not be limited to air strikes.

Mean while the reason for our intervention, Humanitarian, those 5-10,000 civilians we supposedly saved, the different terrorist organizations in Libya have now killed 2-3 as many. There is now an inept government in Libya scared to death to leave Tripoli. Libya is in chaos and soon we will have to intervene again.

Yep, it would have been better just to let Qaddafi do his thing. It also would have been better to let Assad do his thing in Syria, perhaps no ISIS. To keep stability in some of these middle eastern country it takes a strongman. A strongman according to western standards is quite evil. But once that strongman is done away with, chaos, destruction, killings, war between tribes and religious factions ensure. That country becomes a much worse place than if we just left it alone.

 

The first report I saw was on Al Jazeera and it stated that he had been sodomized. I never saw such a claim again in Western reporting or in AJ.

 

It is time for the western world to follow suit and quit throwing good money after bad. it is seriously time to cut losses and leave completely.

 

Actually I would like to see NATO bomb the oil facilities and port facilities in Eastern Libya.

...UH...had you bothered to research in some way what I have stated for some time, you might have noted that my stance is pretty much what you tried to state out the fancy font work. It is obvious that the "western world" has mistakenly removed the only stability to be found in Middle Eastern/African society. The ONLY way to control this violent and fractured cultural mentality is to be even more violent and controlling to scare them into check. By removing Saddam/Khadafi et al.....we left them to try running them selves which has never worked and never will.

Thus do I recommend leaving them to kill and destroy each other and hope those with power in the region grow a set and fix it themselves if they can. It is very unlikely they can or will do this but, certainly won't if they think we will do it for them.

I agree. Some cultures are thousands of years behind the West. If they have a thuggish dictator keeping a lid on things, we need to let the dictator stay in power ... no matter how ruthless they are.
