Do you need a closet full of fire extinguishers for cooking purposes?

Is there an answer you seek? If so, please ask it... I assure you, I'll answer the question WITHOUT sidestepping.... Can you say the same?

Prove she is irresponsible! Just your opinion doesn't prove anything. Saying someone is irresponsible doesn't make it so. Prove her gun was not in a concealed place where it wouldn't have been found without a snoop going through her things.

People in her private room going through her things is just the same as someone stealing your gun and then that person being called the criminal.... SO, yes, you are criminalizing her because someone went through her things.

Read my lips! I DO NOT SUPPORT ANY FURTHER GUN LAWS! Laws do one thing and one thing only..... They restrict those of us that follow the laws! That is it. There are already laws on the books that restrict mentally ill people from owning guns, but... NEWSFLASH... people don't do their jobs and report/enforce the laws ALREADY ON THE BOOKS... We can pass all the laws you gun grabbers want, but it won't stop any mass shooting from happening..... You know this, but stopping people from doing these things is NOT the true goal is it?

Depends on what I'm cooking.... You better bet I wouldn't have a class A fire extinguisher to put out a grease fire.... (Google it.... you might learn something.) I also wouldn't have a .22lr to take down a white tail. You see... Different situations require different tools... hence, because I am capable of doing more than one thing.... I need more than one tool.
Does that break it down for you? I'd be glad to explain more if you need help.

That is great. I encourage everyone that is mentally stable to do so! It's your right and I support that..... Do you support everyone else's right?

My house is locked if that's what your asking. If you come into my house, be prepared to see guns. Now, after I have had a little one, I am more aware of those guns, and when he is able to walk and until he is old enough to realize the responsibility that comes with guns, yea.... They will be out of reach.

I don't need any of your explanations. How many guns for protection in an apartment with roommates? Overkill. If I was her landlord, I would insist that she remove them.

Yes, of course. The question of stability is paramount and how is it established?
For someone to have a shtload of guns for protection, unlocked and loaded, has me questioning her stability.

Two thoughts from me. I am a gun owner and gur rights advocate.

    1. Any attempt to evict her during the current lease is absurd unless the lease prohibited firearms

    2. When she is not at home, and this applies to all gun owners in my opinion, her gund should either be trigger locked, or be in a lock box or safe. This is to protect herself from having them misused or stolen in her absence

I own a bunch of guns A hangun is on my person whenever legally allowed, and it sits next to me, loaded, while I sleep But when I am not home, every gun is in the safe, other than what I am carrying

This is just good sense and self protection The last thing I want is a gun stolen and used in a crime, or discovered my my kid or his friends resulting in a tragedy

Lock them up when they are not under your immediate control It's just common sense

You're getting there. You say that your guns will be out of reach of your little one so what about any little ones visiting the other 6 students in this student house who could just as easily reach the loaded guns just by opening the bedroom door as the six students did?

Well yea, like answering the quoted question that was asked, you know, like how her loaded guns left in her bedroom could protect her when she is in another city

Yes it actually is the real goal. And yes real universal background checks might stop a few. And limited bullet capacity might reduce the carnage a bit as would outlawing bump stocks. And it would be good if there was a way to remove firearms from the posession of people with mental problems at least till a hearing before a judge could happen . And a waiting time for a thorough background check might help. And universal firarm registration might help a bit.

And we know the paraniod moron contingency would like to pretend that anyone who wants stronger gun laws is a gun grabber but that is their mental issue and not the truth.

Unless Harvard is a public university, which it isn't, it can't be forced to accept firearms on campus.

No, this is a myth. The stock is a gimmick. People can and do bump fire without stocks all the time.

In that you'd have to violate federal medical confidentiality laws and subject peoples' constitutional rights to the personal opinions of physicians. This has unconstitutional written all over it.

Been tried and it's failed. Further, it's gotten people killed.

    https://www.foxnews.com/us/no-one-helped-her-nj-woman-murdered-by-ex-while-awaiting-gun-permit

Says who? How does a killer putting his name in a registry stop him from killing? Do you really think he'd give a rat's ass? "Oh noes! My name is on a list! O ****! I better not kill anyone, I might get in trouble!"

Because people are actively calling for the banning of all firearms. You do realize, of course, that no matter how many laws you pass, firearm homicide will continue to happen. So when are you satisfied with new laws? What is the end game here? When will you stop demanding another scattershot of laws?

First she wasn't criminalized. Nobody said she was a criminal. I said she was irresponsible which is entirely different. . And we certainly hope that when you have children you are going to too smart to think leaving a loaded gun hidden in a drawer or closet or whetever is responsible gun ownership.

Sorry I don't really care what your opinion is. People who think the status quo of gun violence in America is acceptable are beyond contempt.

Funny thing is.... Your not her land lord and you don't get that say! Furthermore, if you were her land lord, you STILL shouldn't get that say! What grounds do you have to control what someone does in their own home? You can't control what they say, you can't control how they vote, how they worship, what race they are, who they give money to.... Heck you can't even control most anything they do that's NOT a right guaranteed by the constitution.... What gives you the right to think you should be able to control something that IS A RIGHT? When you take a person's money for rent, you are agreeing that they plan to LIVE there.... Hence that is their place of residence, otherwise known as PRIVATE LIFE. You might not agree, and there are laws that allow this kind of garbage in certain states, but if challenged, it would be hard pressed to see them as constitutional.

SO do you think YOU should be in charge of deciding who is stable and who is not? You clearly do not realize that some people simply enjoy guns. It doesn't matter if I own 275 of them... It's not a question of my mental stability.
The only way you can legally remove someone's RIGHTS is through due process. Anything else is simply absurd. If you can't agree with that, then there lies the key problem with your way of thinking.

Do you know the guns were within reach? I'm pretty sure the article didn't say anything about where they were located. You are assuming an awful lot.
Personally, I'd say it's pretty easy for anyone that visits to NOT go into a private bedroom. I don't know about you, but I watch my child closely. It's not rocket science to keep a child out of someone elses room if for no other reason than to protect that person's privacy.

Do you know that was the only gun she had? While the gun she left in her room might not have been a direct protection to her at the moment, can you provide ANY proof that it presented any danger to anyone that respected her rights of privacy?
Ok, I answered your question.... Now see what you can do.

In Massachusetts it is a criminal offense to not secure your firearm. My point is, at what point does this stop? The door on her room is plenty enough evidence for me to assume that she wanted her room to stay private.
As for my children.... Not to worry. He will be shooting before he can walk so he will learn gun safety beyond what most of you can comprehend.

Glad you are willing to admit that her leaving loaded guns unloced and unsecured was a danger to anyone who didn't respect her privacy. Equating the seriousness of the two telks a lot about your principles.

What about fork violence? Knife violence, car violence, domestic violence, or for that matter, ANY kind of violence.....
The problem is, your opinion doesn't matter any more than mine or the other poster. We have rights to own guns in this country which will come with a certain amount of expectation that bad things WILL happen. Where on the planet do you suggest we follow suite in order to combat this "gun crime" as you call it?
