Hatred of the military is just plain stupid.

Simple minded rhetoric and half baked dogma restrict you from engaging in anything like an adult conversation. And I thought the FOX News fans were dumb.

Yep, it's a 'catch all' club that the military hierarchy can and will use as it sees fit. But it doesn't come equipped with an 'off switch' or a 'don't look at this' filter. Sure the system can be jiggered, but it's not that easy and the results are not assured. I was fortunate never to have gotten on the bad side of military law . . . but once or twice it was a close run issue. So, yes, I can believe your experience. I saw guys punished hard for things inside the military that would have been ignored in the civilian world.

 

Every single last person in the U.S. military is a demon, or accomplice for demons. Just serving a full term requires one to beg on their knees to their higher power for forgiveness a million times over... Or if they aren't religious, perpetual good deeds for the rest of their lives.

After that, maybe, just maybe, they will have balanced out their wicked deeds enough to be worthy of being called a human being.

The United States of America is nothing more than an instrument of satan. It is his most valuable earthly playground for evil to flourish.

The reason I don't like the military is because those who join think they are entitled to respect. That sort of entitlement is annoying.

Yep, anyone donning a uniform is automatically elevated to hero status in the eyes of, predominantly, the right who love to make a point of thanking them for their service anytime anyone mentions he was in the military...like they give a damn.

Probably they figure that if you're so clueless that you have to be told that part then either you do not pass the minimal I.Q. and educational requirement or you're a leftwinger and that the . . . post Basic Training possibilities will expand your horizons in new and interesting ways; and so no harm done there, either. This past Memorial Day my neighbor made it a point to thank me for my service to our nation -- in my youth, mind you -- although he and I never talked about such things in the past. To my surprise I was touched. So, yes, it makes a difference. Anyway it's a waaaaaaaaaay better attitude than that which I encountered in military service during the late 1970s, when there was still the taint of "Baby Killer!" among the attitudes of much of the civilian population hanging redolent of the 1960s in the air . . . but, of course, only among leftwingers. Go figure.

 

It would save us all a lot of lives and money if the nations' leadership would settle their heated disputes in "the octagon" or at a chess board rather than on the fields of slaughter. Military peeps are just expendable pawns in "the service" of their dipsh!tty and highly ambitious political/ideological puppet masters (e.g. Lyndon Johnson/Viet Nam). So it would be a pleasant change for them to play out their power games with their own lives and leave the rest of us the fuk alone!

 

Listen up - when a person signs up in any branch of the military they are voluntarily puting themselves potentially into harm's way. For that they deserve respect of every US citizen. They don't get paid much, and they have to leave their families for lengthy deployments, and they have to take their chances for getting shot or blown up wherever they go. And that commitment and sacrifice deserves some appreciation.

If we didn't have people who serve how would we protect ourselves and our national interests? Do you really think everything can be solved by diplomacy? Didn't work with Hitler, what makes you think it'll work now? If we didn't have a strong military to back up our words, whose going to negotiate in good faith? You can disagree about the decisions made by our political leaders as to where they go and what they do, as a matter of fact I ain't too happy with length of time of the Iraq and Afghanistan wars, we shoulda kicked ass and gone home within a year. Who do you think shows up when an earthquake hits or a volcano blows it's top? The US Navy, that's who. What do you think Putin would be doing now if he didn't have to face a strong US military? What would this world be like of the US didn't have a strong military?

 

I'm convinced that the Canadian conservative government hates Vets.
