The problem with this is that today's Democrat Party is decidedly NOT the party of the working man as it was in years gone by. That party is party of special interests, not working Americans.

When, in history, have Democrats not been the party of the rich?

I do not support tax loopholes for the rich... I support some tax cuts for the rich, never said I did not

Fake News. You aren't "paying federal taxes on state taxes" it's a deduction cap that increases taxable income for the rich.

Democrats removing that cap = Democrats cutting taxes for the rich.

SALT is a tax loophole for the rich, which you support.

I've no idea why you think paying state taxes means you should not pay federal taxes. They have nothing to do with one another other than as yet another loophole to give the rich tax breaks for no social benefit.

Under the pre-Trump version, it was an unlimited deduction. Trump limited it to 10,000 dollars. You think people who are paying more than 10K in state taxes aren't rich?

You may feel that way, but it makes no sense as far as good tax policy goes.

it's for up to 10k, not a loophole the rich really care about, effects the middle class more

"Individual taxpayers who itemize their personal deductions can deduct up to $10,000 of their aggregated state and local taxes per return annually ($5,000 for married persons fling separately). The limitation does not apply to taxes paid or accrued in carrying on a trade or business or incurred as expenses in an income producing activity."

Rich Wealthy Privileged White Gentrified States think they have a right to be subsidized by poorer, underprivileged states with larger populations of POC because the rich folks are "better" than other folks. This is a long held belief of "Progressives". That's why they used PP for population control in the Black community in order to reduce the number of what they termed "undesirables."

It's unsurprising that the movement that supported eugenics supports cutting taxes for the rich. They think their wealth "proves" that they are superior.

To her credit, AOC is actually right on this issue. And given her track record, her being right on anything deserves acknowledgement as a moment of exceeding rarity.

really depends on your state and their income tax

states with no income tax were not effected the same

plenty of loopholes that are more concerning than SALT, which capped at 10k

When I moved to Connecticut in the 80s the state had no income tax, the economy was booming and state budgets had surpluses. In 1991 a state income tax was passed into law. Today the state is deeply in debt, businesses and individuals are fleeing the state.

Then deal with those too. The Rich are not in need of more tax deductions, they already have plenty.

OOPS. This is a re-do to fix what I goofed.

That's right. It's ridiculous to think otherwise.

That has been proven for years now to be untrue. There are DOCTORS who are struggling to pay off their education debt. And at what point do such people begin to save for retirement?

I doubt it. I really do, given all the statistics and studies and reporting on that issue. And I certainly don't trust you to be forthcoming with that.

Excessive foreign outsourcing and excessive foreign imports have really effected this country badly

that and online sales that were not taxed effected states as well
