Remember when our President was the leader of the free world? Those were America's great days. When you could give credence to the President's word. And our allies respected us. And even our enemies. But now that's all way in the past. We can only read it in our history writings dating all the way back to 2 months ago!

I don't see Soros' relevance here. Do you deny it happened?

After seeing Trump outright lie that he is not a isolationist, I wish Merkel was our president. The people who continue to stand with Trump with every crash are simply sitting ducks in a reservoir of gunfire.

Trump's wife is staying in New York for the time being, looking after their son and keeping him in school there. I think his daughter is perfectly suited to play the hostess, since she and her family apparently live in the White House.

Donnie's Bros, better known as Trump's Chumps, now have to work 24-7 as apologists. Shucking and jiving and dodging this ongoing disaster of their own making.

Holy crap...you have to go back 8 years and 2 months to remember that.

From 1946 until a community organizer was elected President, the POTUS was the most powerful person in the world. But that changed in 2008 when the corrupt banana republic Democrat National Committee decided to run a community organizers as a black man for President.

By 2011 America wasn't the world superpower that it was from 1946 to 2010.

In 2016 the most powerful man / woman in the world was Vladimir Putin.

The second most powerful man in the world was private U.S. citizen, Donald J. Trump.

The third most powerful person in the world was Angela Merkel.

The 48th most powerful person in the world was a community organizer, President Barack Hussein Obama.

This sounds great except they are not steeped in gratitude.

More importantly, they never will be.

I'm not talking about "power". I'm talking about leadership. Trump is in the list only because he has been placed by irresponsible voters in charge of the most powerful military force in the world by far. Otherwise he would probably not even be in the top 200.

Leadership means the ability to lead those who follow. Who would follow Trump?

And, BTW, how is it that the person in charge of the most powerful military in the world is second to the guy from a country whose military budget (2016) is one tenth of ours? Trump's lack of leadership outweighs our enormously greater military power.

Nigel Farage said that only one nation has gained from the EU and that is Germany. More recently the Eastern European nations are complaining about their second class citizen status and they might pull out...so why does Merkel keep trying to pull more countries into the EU? Is she an advocate of Soros' globalist world system and working for the banks and corporate interests rather than the people?

The Eurozone is not sustainable and is ready to collapse... and I believe on March 25th there will be a meeting to solve the problems. I don't think it will succeed. I don't know why, but somehow I sensed the EU collapsing five years ago... that's why I couldn't figure out why Ukraine was so determined to become a member.

This video is old and a little outdated, but even though Waggenecht is a communist she is an economist and she does give a good idea of the hard handedness of Merkel's policies.

It's to early to grade President Trump as a leader. But Trump wouldn't have gotten where he is today in the private sector if he weren't a leader.

Post WW ll Presidents who were excellent leaders while in the White House and were able to work with Congress, Eisenhower, LBJ, RMN, Reagan and Bill Clinton.

There were two Presidents who were lacking in leadership as POTUS.

Jimmy Carter but with Carter it was that he had no control over his own political party (Democrats) because the "New Left (radical left) had just gained control of the Democrat Party and refused to work with Carter.

Barack Obama where the word "leadership" isn't part of his vocabulary. It was always my way or no way, never once willing to cross the aisel in Congress but publicly made it clear, "I have a pen...I have a phone." As a world leader, Obama decided to lead from behind. He lost all credibility as a world leader with his "red line in the sand" in Syria and during the Obama - Putin show down, Obama blinked.

Trump's son in law does have a position, but his daughter doesn't. They do own a home nearby.

Melania does host affairs when guests arrive, it's just that the MSM won't mention them. Someone I know who met his children said they're all brilliant, but from Ivanka's father's dependency on her advice, she was probably the brightest and most competent... not to mention that as a father, he was probably proud of her looks as well.

Ivanka did manage her father's campaign right from the start, and she's not only at all the business meetings, but conducts her own meetings as well.... like the one for women executives when Trudeau was in Washington.
(I think she did it to please the women, since he's so damn good looking).

What is so funny about that? Should she rather abandon him? The Trumps decided not to have their son change school in the middle of a term.
You show signs of a disturbed mind, perhaps effected by jealousy.
Thanks, Jeannette, for rounding it all a bit more out. So, Ivanka is actually right now stepping occasionally into her mother's place and doing the gracious things.
I see nothing wrong with that.

Melania did host a woman's luncheon, and from the picture I saw it looked like Ivanka was a little envious. I guess she's use to being the center of attention. She did say once that people will be pleasantly surprised at how competent Melania is. When it comes to executive and business meetings, then it's a different story.

The video I posted is of the President of the US (Trump) standing at a podium with the Great Seal of The President of The United States in an apparently quite friendly and affectionate handshake with Angela Merkel, the visiting head os state from the Federal Republic of Germany. History will record this was Frau Merkel's first visit to the US since Trump's election. Your source said Trump would not shake her hand, evidently not true as the video shows.

We are talking about TWO different settings. And they both took place on the same day. In one place, the one you've presented, trump did shake her hand.
In the Oval Office, he AVOIDED shaking her hand AND avoided eye contact. I don't understand why you can't understand. Both of us are correct. We are talking about TWO DIFFERENT places. Please read this post again....s-l-o-w-l-y...

Nigel is a British political analyst. Most Brits hate the Germans. They fought against Germany twice in the last century.
You may not know it, but the Germans are hard and conscientious workers. It is no wonder they became the main engine of the EU.
I don't know which countries are complaining, but it can't be Germany's fault. I can see that some are not as efficient, perhaps have corruption in their upper and lower echelons. Some folks simply don't have the motivation or ambition and rather keep complaining and holding out their hand, expecting to be nursed by the stronger nations. There probably is also still some old resentment towards the Germans who now again have become a strong nation.
The EU was an important experiment. But it shows you can't throw everyone into one big pot.
Sorry, I have no knowledge of what Merkel is trying to do or under who's influence she operates besides the United States. Sometimes I have doubts about her devotion to her people, but then... she has to follow orders from Washington, and Washington follows orders from Tel Aviv.
Ukraine is one corrupt state! Their aim and hope probably is to get more aid from the Union. Definitely, they see a membership as beneficial for themselves. Isn't Turkey also trying to become a member? In that case... good bye, Germany!!
Let's watch what will come out of that meeting on the 25th.
Well, she is in opposition to Merkel and quite outspoken. Unfortunately, I couldn't follow the text fast enough and listening to her talk is a little difficult for me as well.
I would have to delve a little deeper into the Merkel hard-handedness to see if it is unfair.

Angela Merkel's composure is admirable and refreshing compared to Theresa May's desperation to find common ground with Trump. There are no common ground so quit trying, focus on that which can be discussed and possibly agreed on and clearly that is what she is doing. She is such a seasoned politician in office for more than a decade now.

I wonder who Trumpco. will blame next for his wiretap fiasco...first Obama, next the U.K.

    I'm guessing Syria or Zimbabwe.
