There are times when it becomes blatantly obvious that most, if not all, in politics have difficulties in dealing with reality. I attribute this to arrogance as well as thinking themselves "better than" the people whom they are asking to select them (politicians) to represent them (the populace).

I am sure she impresses you. Superior knowledge often has that impact upon less intelligent people.

She is next in line for "First Female PotUS in American history" - which has been a long time coming and is well overdue ...

I Would've voted for Elizabeth Dole or Carly Fiorina.

Warren wants to know why we bombed ISIS, I mean ISIL.

Senator Warren: What is the strategy to bomb ISIS?
Marine: To kill the bastards Senator.

Thanx for your corrections, but I disagree with the "screed" bit and find it a cheap-shot.

I happen to think Fiorinia's problems were more market than financial in origin. I was competing with her company at the time.

You can find here George Fox University . That the author's name is not on its web-site is of no relevance whatsoever.

Neither is mine, but I teach university economics nonetheless ...

You: """The only reason that the American voters (more than half of whom ARE female) haven't elected a female as President of the United States, is because of 'sexism'. Happy now?"""

Air bubbles and hysteria, I NEVER said sexism and misogyny were the ONLY reason.

    But:

Now, why can't you answer my questions? They are simple and to the point.

"""So what reason do you give for there not being a female Presidential candidate in a country with over 200 years of history?

WHY CAN'T YOU ANSWER THAT? Brushing it off as hysteria and air bubbles does NOT hide the FACT that YOU can't answer it

YES, there have been rulers of OTHER nations...so why is the US so far behind?

I see where you bolded """(more than half of whom ARE female)"".

Thinking women can't be sexist is sexist.

I'm sure it takes a great deal of "intelligence" to pretend that you're an American Indian, just so that you can get special consideration and preference. People who admire that kind of thing surely have a great deal of "intelligence" also....

But, sometimes that kind of tactic doesn't work out so well. Even an average American can see through some kinds of bullshit....

Hey, I know! :omg: Why not have 'Dizzy Lizzy' Warren and Rachel Dolezal run together as the next radical Democrat nominees for president and VP? :hippie:

[IMG].But, if they'd dish more welfare, some people would vote for them!

I agree with you that the market itself was very tough at that time, and that did have financial ramifications, too. Carly probably shouldn't have spearheaded the effort to buy Compaq, but HP wanted to control Alphaservers (you remember that Compaq bought Digital), and probably more than anything else, HP wanted to get Compaq's market-leading ProLiant servers for both rack and floor, lower and mid-tier.

Dell was strong at the time, and IBM was always the "800-pound gorilla" in the "big-iron" space... (HP should not have spent so much time and money on the Itanium processor). But, I'm talking too much "shop"....

Anyway, she missed making her numbers in Q3 of 2004, so, the following February, the HP board fired her.

I still can't see how that makes her guilty of 'ethics' problems...(!). Compared to what? Hilarity Clinton?! Surely you can't be implying THAT!

Anyway, I would surely have voted for Carly for president if she had won the nomination. Trump never was "my guy", but I did vote for him. I'd have voted for a rabid, two-headed dog before I would have voted for anyone as dangerously stupid and corrupt as Hilarity Clinton....

The only answer I can give you that may satisfy you is, "Hell, I simply don't know WHY there haven't been more female presidential candidates!" That is the truth. I don't know why there haven't been more of them, and neither myself nor anyone I know has done anything to try to suppress them, either.

I told you I would have voted for Carly Fiorina, and I told you that nothing in this world could make me vote for Hilarity Clinton. Surely the type and calibre of person running for a public office has something to do with it...? I can't think of anything else to say, in English. Shall we try German...?

    I do indeed.

How DEC could have been sold to rubes at Compaq will always amaze me. A more incongruous alliance is impossible.

Of course, it all came apart and HP picked up the pieces of its once "only-real" competitor - and did nothing with the remains* of what was a first-class computing company.

*If anyone know where they are buried, do let me know ...

You say you don't know, but yet you say sexism and /or misogyny had nothing to do with it.
And maybe you haven't tried to suppress them but that does NOT mean no one has....IF you took the time to look at our history you would see many ways women were oppressed.....WHY did you think they didn't get to vote until the 20th century??

Yes, but to say no woman in US history has ever been equal to the caliber of men elected is sexist....and shows clearly they have been oppressed since you and I know there are, and WERE, high caliber women and they didn't just appear like magic in the 21st century.

Well, I can only speak for one voter, and with all his faults I'll simply say that I'll be happy to vote for good, solid, Constitution-loving, America-loving citizens -- regardless of what their personal sexual 'plumbing' is. I learned a long time ago that having a woman on top is not a bad thing at all! :rock_slayer:

    Cheers!

    CLOSING THE PAY-GAP

Quite right. A good treatment of the question, particularly the historical perspective that goes back centuries, from here: Oppression - Women's History Definition, excerpt:
And what do the statistics say? This, from Pew Research:
The gap, as seen in the second infographic above was almost closed in 2011/12 but then worsened probably due to the Great Recession lay-offs. But, the trend is positive and the gap should be closed naturally within a few years.

Which means what? Lets ask, "Why is the gap closing?"

My response: Quite simply because the American female has learned that to earn a better salary she needs better qualifications. And where does she obtain said qualifications?

With a postsecondary education diploma... !

Hillary is a whiny drunken kleptocrat who lost because she is an unlikeable blundering idiot that lies all the time.

Congress Refers Hillary's Private Server Company To DOJ For Prosecution

Hillary's "Oh **** Guy" (a.k.a Paul Combetta), who was responsible for wiping her private server clean with BleachBit despite acknowledging he was aware of a Congressional subpoena demanding the preservation of all records, was looking like he would be the 'fall guy' to take the blame for Hillary's various federal crimes.

The specifics of Platte River's involvement in the Hillary email scandals:
Well, as it turns out, Combetta was one of the Clinton aides offered an immunity deal by Comey which the "FBI was handing out like candy."

Platte River Networks' CEO Treve Suazo was not offered such a deal and, after obstructing an investigation led by Rep. Lamar Smith (R - TX) of the House Science, Space, and Technology Committee for the better part of year, he has just been referred to the DOJ for prosecution. Per The Washington Free Beacon:

Rep. Lamar Smith (R., Texas), chairman of the House Science, Space, and Technology Committee, has asked the DOJ to prosecute Platte River Networks CEO Treve Suazo for obstructing a congressional investigation into his company’s role in providing security for Clinton’s home brewed email server, which began the subject of widespread debate following revelations that it had multiple security vulnerabilities.

Senior congressional aides apprised of the situation said their investigation shows there is mounting evidence there were "pretty serious cyber security concerns" with Clinton’s server.

Multiple subpoenas and letters from the congressional investigation team went unanswered by Platte River, prompting Smith to refer the case to the DOJ for criminal prosecution. Congressional investigators allege that the company is guilty of failing to produce key documents, making false statements to Congress, and of obstructing the investigation into Clinton’s server.

At least two subpoenas issued by the committee were not answered by Platte River.

As one committee aide noted, "This is atypical. There were absolutely zero negotiations, there was no willingness on their part to discuss whether any information they would provide would satisfy the committee's request. It was just the company, with council, refusing to discuss the matter."

Seems that maybe not everyone can just wipe their problems clean, "like with a cloth", the way Hillary can.

Uhhh, she is a drunken kleptocrat that lies constantly, blunders repeatedly and tries to lie through it with her false sense of entitlement. She was a horrible choice, I can't believe you guys ran her. That she lost, to even Trump, pretty much tells the story. What is it that you still find puzzling? Between her and Obama they actively insulted and demeaned large swaths of the electorate that, without, she couldn't reach an electoral majority. You guys might as well stand up on barrels with bull horns and denounce them as "white trash".

And you are still shocked she lost? The density of some folks is beyond amazing!

Most Democrats are still in complete meltdown over the loss. However, a chunk of them are beginning to distance themselves from her.

Most "Democrats" that I know have been long past the meltdown stage for several months.

Among my circle, even the hardest core were over it by the end of November.

Of course, most Democrats have moved far beyond Hillary (by now).

She did defeat Trump - by a margin of more than 2% in the popular-vote.

No other nation on earth has a cockamamie "Electoral College" - only the popular vote counts ...
