Im not sure you understand what the laws you posted represent.

The "full auto" guns you initially referred to have their own additional laws-they are subject to the National Firearms Act, and numerous other laws beyond those for other guns.

You are saying the laws that apply to guns generally also apply to guns where they dont.

Thats besides the reality that most guns used in crimes are either stolen, obtained through straw purchase, or the black market.

Im a California gun owner with a Federal firearms license.

The new "tactical" trend is to use an AR. It supposedly penetrates less than handgun bullets and buckshot.

Actually in many states they cannot sue you unless you are first brought up on criminal charges.

Stand your ground and castle laws stop the little thug factory lottery enthusiasts from playing that game.

Yes I know that the law varies from state to state. So OJ was not covered by such a law in liberal California. I am surprised.

PS actually would 't that be convicted on criminal, charges!

OJ's case never had any element of self defense to it.

I know but it has the reverse in that it allows a civil suit against a dirt bag who beat the criminal system based upon a racist stupid arsed jury.

The earlier poster didn't say had to be convicted, but had to have charges brought against them.

Well ... the core question and no matter which sort of gun is that a private purchase between 2 private individuals is not ckecked at all in many US states ... only if the seller is a licensed one, then he must do a background check of the buyer!

An interesting stat would be how many innocent people have been killed by guns stolen from homeowners and then used by the thieves. We do know that the last time a study was done before congress made the CDC stop that you are twice as likely to be shot by an intruder using your own gun than the intruders will be shot by you.

You not? Is your democratic elected government an enemy for you and do you not trust them at all?

If yes, then you are living in a wrong country!

I wouldn't say that. For example, in PA, deals for handguns must all go through a background check except for deals between close relatives. All deals for class III require a new NFA stamp. I just chatted with my coworker who has multiple class III weapons and the paperwork is extreme. Each weapon is registered and even moving to a new location, you must notify the local police or sheriff. You might be able to get around the handgun requirement, but class III will get you in a world of hurt.

You mean Title II weapons like for example a MAC-10?

That such weapons are allowed at all is a point I will never understand ... but I won't even try it anymore to understand, because makes only headache and ends in wasted time for useless debates with crazy people who see in a gun no difference as item as for example in a car.

No legally civilian owned full auto has ever been used in a crime. Period! You'd have to ask them why they go through the trouble and expense for weapons that have few places you can use them.

I was addressing the issue of a home who has to kill or wound a home invader should be immune from civil suit for damages. I should have made that clearer.

Agreed. Until such protection a homeowner will just need to have insurance to cover it.

And even that isn't so cut and dry. With my FFL, Im heavily screened and checked federally, as well as by the local sheriff (have to submit paperwork and he has to sign it).

Its more in depth than most backround checks.

But it means that another dealer can sell directly to me.
