Having a right and being able to exercise it are two different things. The normal debate over voter ID concerns barriers to voting experienced by the poor.
That's your interpretation. He didn't mention voter fraud.

So you decided to make a baldly false claim about what I wrote in clear, grammatical English. Shocker.

Right...but that is the argument put forth by those AGAINST voter ID. They argue that someone poor might not be able to afford a ID. But the OP is FOR voter ID.

So you're saying voters DON'T pay taxes at all? Do tell.

They not pay taxes as voters. If and to the extent that they pay, they pay as taxpayers.

Correct. Courts used to strike down laws that subjected certain identifiable groups to unreasonable barriers to exercise of their franchise, but recent SCOTUS rulings are more tolerant of the right's anti-democratic impulse. IMO financial barriers to voting are unconstitutional, so if a voter ID were required, it would have to be provided for free. Given the need for ID to participate in modern society, free ID is certainly a service that a nation with any regard for equality would provide.
I interpreted the OP as being for voter ID but not taking a position on who should pay for it.

Never said they pay taxes as voters. Voters are also citizens. Citizens pay taxes. Taxpayers are citizens who vote. See how that all works? If you need help with anything else let me know. I am always willing to help the less fortunate.

Then why did you incorrectly claim voters had to pay for voter ID cards?
Normally. In some places, property owners can vote in local elections even if they are not citizens.
Usually. Not always. And some who pay taxes are not citizens.

You are really quite careless about expressing your understanding of civics, with the result that you make a lot of factually incorrect claims.
Nope. Some taxpayers vote, but many -- in the USA, about half -- don't. You are just factually incorrect. Again.
I see that your claims are -- shocker! -- factually incorrect with depressing consistency.
Let me know when you have passed your high school civics class.

Voter (aka citizens) WILL have to pay for voter IDs. Either directly out of pocket or through the taxes they pay. I can't go through wasting another day watching you struggle with this. I'm done. I will not see anymore of your posts on this subject but by all means feel free to post something that won't be seen.

In California you get registered to vote when you apply for a DMV license with absolutely no verification regarding your citizenship status.

    Its called nullification by design.

That depends on how they are funded. They could be funded by taxpayers rather than voters or citizens.
You don't seem to be very clear on what being a taxpayer is, and how it is different from being a citizen or a voter.
Feel free to avoid correction of your erroneous views. It's a time-honored practice, after all.

    Use some imagination??

Paper ballots can be lost, stolen, misplaced, incorrectly read.

Online voting can be checked by the voter using their unique ballot number.

Mail-in voting can also be checked online by the voter referencing their unique ballot number.

None of which will fool the scrutineers, who have witnessed the voting and the count, and will report any discrepancy.
What guarantees that the vote they check is the vote that is counted, or that all the votes are legitimate?
How does that enable them to verify that only actual votes went to all the other candidates when the ballots were counted?

This is non-productive; no matter what voting system you have there can ALWAYS be mistakes and corruption! It is further corrupted by the involvement of humans. When you have 200+ million voters, scattered all over the world, many with incorrect residence data, there can NEVER be guarantees of 100% accuracy. There does not need to be a single type of voting! Voting systems must be in place to satisfy all needs. For example, with 1.5 million military personnel all over the world it is mandated that they either vote by mail or on-line. Even if in a remote area all personnel can cast a paper ballot, either those ballots or the data must be communicated back to the US. IMO a mail-in ballot is identical to a local paper ballot since both must be processed by humans...
