Where did I say guns are people? Guns are tools, tools are owned and used by people. People commit crimes. When they do, you punish them. You do not punish people who do not commit crimes for the crimes of those who do.

What is the point of ANY law? They all are based on what bad people do. You can't do whatever you want just because you're in your home or anywhere else. There are laws for everything....because people do things that society deems bad....hence LAWS.

By your conception all laws are malum prohibitum laws. Things like prohibitions against Jay walking. Things that are wrong because the law says so, like simple possession.

I'm talking malum in se, things like prohibitions against rape or theft or murder. Things that are wrong intrinsically. That is not punishing the innocent for the deeds of the guilty, that is simply punishing the guilty.

To take a right away, one needs more than "because I say so" one needs to show that the conduct barred is intrinsically wrong. Owning a weapon is not intrinsically wrong, nor is using it.
