The truth is in the comparative numbers. It always is comparative - meaning, "compared to what"? There is no-absolute-rule as regards taxation, which is the problem. Even academically, it is extremely difficult to find any research on Fair Taxation - even though horror-stories abound about the fact that taxation is UNFAIR in the US.

So, what is left is a comparative measure of overall taxation as a percentage of GDP:
Why in hell do the blue-bloods* want to lower taxation? Twenty-four percent of GDP is not low-enough ... ?

*About as close as America gets to a Noble Class.

corporate tax is highest in world causing our corporations to move out. top 1% of individuals pay 40% of taxes collected, more than anywhere on earth. 24% of GDP is not such a problem by collecting it from those who need it the most is a huge problem crippling America to 1% growth.

Back when the rich were only paying 20% of the tax wasn't there more income equality??? Do you get what I'm saying? Compared to today everyone made more income, and had a bigger slice of the income pie.

As the rich get richer and the poor get poorer the percent the rich must pay in taxes goes up.

Your Republican inventers get economic growth by making shitty products that are designed to fail so that customers need to keep buy new ones instead of lasting for 100 years like they used to.

I'd like to show a funny video on the topic.

wrong, the rich don't get rich by stealing from the poor, its not zero sum. liberal welfare govt created millions of single poor mothers who drag down equality numbers. You cant make the poor richer by crippling them with even more welfare. That would only create more inequality.
Solution is not to cripple the poor with welfare but to teach them to earn good money and end or reduce their inequality.

And don't forget the inequality numbers are a lib Marxist sham anyway. The don't include the money the poor get form govt so they wont be poor. Absurd-right?

if poor quality you could get rich by making better quality. Do you understand?
if designed to fail you could get rich by designing not to fail products. Do you now see the genius of Republican capitalism?

we are very well off today despite what the libmarxist MSM wants you to believe. Use your common sense and look at all the great new stuff Americans can now afford to buy:

You don't need to be an economist to see how rich the middle class got by looking at all the new inventions they could suddenly afford in the last 10 years: suddenly we had plasma TV's, LCD TV's, DLP-TV's, iPods, iphones, CD's and CD players, DVDs and DVD players, Blue Ray and Blue Ray players, PCs, desk top PCs, DVRs, color printers, satellite radio, Advantium ovens, HD-TV, Playstations, X-Boxes, X-box live, X-box Konnect, broadband, satellite TV, cell/camera/video phones, digital cameras, OnStar, palm corders, Blackberries, smart phones, home theaters, SUVs, big houses, more houses per capita, TiVo, 3D movies and TV's, built in wine coolers, granite counter tops, $200 sneakers, Go Pro Cameras, GPS navigation, consumer drones, color matched front loader washing machines, internet Facebook, Pandora, LTE-U, run flat tires, matching washer dryer combinations, McMansions, 4K TV, Iphone 6+, burner commercial ranges, Sub Zero refridgerators, Tesla cars, private space flight, more cars than drivers, a $1 billion ring tone industry, a pet industry that just doubled to $34 billion, 10's of millions lining up to buy Apple's I-tablet, Wii, Fit bits, Apple watches, Netflix boxes, jet skis, induction cooking, low profile tires, aluminum/titanium rims, Harley Davidson and Japanese motorcycles. $700 Billion spent Christmas 2010, $10.5 billion movies 2010, 10 million ocean crusies, 44 million taking plane flights over 2012 holiday, $500 billion spent on Christmas 2012, hover boards, Ti Vi Bolt, Tesla cars, cloud storage, 4k Oled TV,
hover boards, Ring Doorbells, semi self-driving cars, Amazon Alexa,

The list goes on and on. I hope that helps you realize you can't just parrot the communist press and expect to make sense? They have other objectives and are merely using you to promote their point of view.

They can afford to buy all your stuff because of the rare event that prices came down in the technology sector. What used to cost 1000s of dollars now costs 100s of dollars. How did they come down? By mass production of cheap quality goods that are manufactured in third world countries. Meanwhile this has destroyed manufacturing jobs here, and the cost that really matters: the cost of living has gone up. Wage growth has pretty much stagnated, except for the rich.

No you get less sales with higher quality. And if you make things too good you'll go out of business because no one will buy another one of your product.

As far as I'm aware, I've heard that welfare reform in the 1990s took care of the welfare queen. But if that's not enough for you I'm sure with Republicans in charge they can find even ways to kick even more of the poor from "welfare."

Now we can't have $15 minimum wage now can we??? So instead of wages going up they stagnate and more and more people slip into poverty as prices go up faster than their incomes. So more people qualify for welfare and don't pay taxes. The remainder, the rich's share of paying taxes goes up.

You don't make good money without the proper education. Which means you need money, time, and a good brain. I've heard there's a demand for skilled labor, but the skills for the job aren't being taught in school, and the places looking for those skills don't pay you for your education to learn the trade. So, they can just go without workers. And they wonder why they can't find employees in America.

And a lot. They were already making damn fine money when taxation was hacked-down (by JFK, but it was Johnson that signed the law into place). And at that time (1963) taxation for the upper-strata looked like this, around 90%:

So, how did they make their megabucks? A lot was inherited, so upping Income Tax is insufficient. We must also increase Estate Taxes. The bank-rolling of Net Worth (Wealth minus Debt) has got to stop. Why?

Because it will cause the fractioning of our society, as it has done everywhere in recent history over the past two centuries.

Must we go through another Revolutionary War to stop the skimming of Wealth in America? That's what could happen when push comes to shove as the poor (and not just the blacks) suffer the pains of Permanent Poverty beyond the breaking-point.

Can't happen in America? That's what was thought in the 19th century in Europe. And then Communists overthrew the Russian Tsar in 1917 ...

    Yup.

In a new paper, EPI’s Josh Bivens provides evidence that corporate tax cuts will not boost American wages and productivity, as claimed by the Trump administration’s Council of Economic Advisers. Bivens finds that wages actually grew faster when corporate tax rates were higher. If policymakers actually want to raise wages for working people, they should implement policies such as raising the federal minimum wage and strengthening workers’ ability to join unions, and they should urge the Federal Reserve to pursue genuine full employment, Bivens explains.

I heard from a reliable source, the user @AboveAlpha , that China is underreporting their poor population to get the world off their back.

I pity the poor foo' who takes the China model as anything other than a charlatan illusion.

great, so while USA corporate taxes are highest in world we can raise them even further to boost American wages and keep American business from moving off shore!! Liberal logic is always so compelling. See why we say liberalism is based in pure ignorance?

if you think the wealthy are skimming wealth why not stop buying from them rather than propose stealing from them at gun point .Why is the liberal solution always govt violence? The people decide in a free country how much wealth Bill Gates has not libNazis in govt.

Chinese kids descend terrifying cliff face to school

China has 10 new cities all bigger than NYC. Does the liberal think the people in those cities came from outer space or from rural China??
