    Then ignore me.

Leave me to the the adults who are intelligent enough to read and understand the word "infringed".

    Now, go to recess.

You did not want to kill anyone and your were responsible with the gun that is why nobody died.

Criminals commit almost all gun crimes. They will have access to gun no matter what the laws in the US are. A small portion of gun crimes are committed by those who were non-criminals for most of their life such as Horhay Zimmerman, the Newtown guy, and Virginia Tech guy. These murders could have possibly been prevented if there were gun control measures such as:

    1. Horhay Zimmerman - take a self defense class in which you have to engage in a boxing match in order to get a gun.
    2. Newtown guy- No access to guns in homes in which there are those who have mental health issues.
    3. V tech guy- A mental health evaluation.

More thorough background checks could also possibly prevent gun crimes. These measures would only decrease gun crime by a small percentage. You might say ""Oh it will only be a small percentage, we don't need it." Lives are lives and we should try to prevent people from dieing. Boo-hoo, during a few of your Saturday evenings instead of you laying on the couch eating Cheetos and masturbating you will have to spend your evening going through the new process of getting a gun by having a thorough back ground check, a mental health evaluation, and by taking a self defense class. Semi-autos should stay legal but there should be more safety measures involved with buying a gun.

They should be legal, but with a better and safer process to obtain them.

"The guy next door may well do so" isn't much of an argument when the vast, vast, vast majority of gun owners harm no one.

    Edit:

Also worth noting that while gun crime has thankfully fallen, gun ownership has gone up.

Something like 30,000 die every year because automobiles are so freely available. Where is the outrage?
