Well, the point of my post was to rebut the claim that ALL cities with lax gun laws have high gun-related death rates. Variations in demographics, etc., will shape results differently obviously; sometimes dramatically. I don't believe in absolutes for the most part, and I think issues of violent crime, suicide, etc. are poorly served with absolutism under any circumstances. They are complex issues with complex solutions. That said, I don't believe gun control has any place in a free society. It is, in my opinion, a wrong-headed policy to its core.
Exactly. We have become a society that actively encourages people to reject fighting back under any circumstances instead of training them to understand the merits of righteous self-defense.
Rereading it, this thread should be simply titled "Idiots." All people involved in the original case were idiots.
Only because they barely know how their firearm works, much less how to actually use it. The accuracy standards for law enforcement officers, especially in the state of New York, are completely abysmal, and this is just with qualifying against stationary targets.
This must they need to empty their magazines to kill one unarmed black man. See, only the police and military should have guns.
And yet, you tout New York's low crime rate as a model for the entire US on how gun control should be implemented.
And yet a total, absolute prohibition on illicit narcotic substances, is failing to work. The number of deaths attributed to such substances is irrefutable proof.
There you go using logic again. Sadly it never works with an Anti-gunner simply because their claims are not rooted in logic..
We already have gun laws yet we continue to have gun related murders. I don't know how more guns laws stop people from using guns to kill. The ONLY possible way to stop gun related murders is if all guns were to somehow magically disappear....which we know isn't possible.
We have the most lax gun laws of any developed nation and we have 25 times the gun death rate of those nations. Imagine if we had the most lax driving laws of any developed nation and we had 25 times the auto deaths. We don't need a perfect system.....just a better one
Oh l have a clear plan. But i only stack my plan up against others that put the details of their plan up. I am happy to debate them...but only on an even playing field
In other words, unless someone want to debate their gun-banning plan, against your gun-banning plan, no discussion is possible.
Nope. Just your plan to reduce gun deaths. I personally don't support gun bans but if you want to present a gun banning plan or any other plan to reduce gun deaths I would be happy to present mine as well. I will present as much detail and evidence as you do.
