Eliminate all state guns laws and then like Maine, which is number one in the lowest violent crime rate in the U.S., a state that has no firearms restrictions (gun laws) and is a shall issue carry license state. Then the entire country can enjoy having considerably lower violent crime rates, which include deaths by firearm.
That will not reduce gun deaths and Maine does not even make the top ten in low gun deaths. If you want to copy states copy the states that make the top ten in low gun deaths
So all you care about is low firearm deaths, not public safety from violent crime, which results in many more deaths, versus firearms deaths only? A good fact to know.
Totally incorrect, I care about deaths from violent crimes, which includes those caused by firearms, not just those caused by firearms. I truly care about people, not a false cause.
No you don't. There is no country on earth with low gun deaths and lax gun laws. You care about guns....not people
The details of my plan is that current laws are enough. One of the issues is that the US is a gun culture unlike any other country. People love their guns here. As a result, no matter how many laws are on the books, guns are going to find their way into the hands of people who think nothing of killing others. We have no way of knowing who is going to flip out (so to speak) and use a gun to kill. We have many laws against killing, in general, yet that doesn’t stop being from killing. We have laws against drunk driving yet that doesn’t stop people from drinking and driving. We have laws against rape yet rape still happens. Their will always be evil people in the world and there is nothing anyone can do about that.
Well that plan sucks. We could be like other developed countries and have 25 times less gun deaths. We can have a better system
Drunk driving was removed from the list of sporting events some 30 years ago. I haven't looked, but I suspect the number of deaths due to it have gone down. Maybe we should remove the ownership of some firearms from the same list?
In 2016, 10,497 people died in alcohol-impaired driving crashes, accounting for 28% of all traffic-related deaths in the United States. In 2016, more than 1 million drivers were arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol or narcotics. Still seems to be an issue
Dude you have a pat answer to anything presented. "Everything is fine and we don't need to change anything so anything you present is not needed" You can say that to ANYTHING I present.
The question is has it gone down since before the mothers against drunk drivers came on the scene? It certainly has lost its flavor.
So? You clearly dismissed my plan. What was it you posted...oh yes...”well that plan sucks”. I knew you wouldn’t like my opinion but still shared it. Why can’t you do the same? The worst that can happen is I don’t agree with it. That shouldn’t stop you from sharing your plan.
No. Just like I don’t want to eliminate current gun laws. You DO realize I haven’t advocated for eliminating current gun laws, right? Please at least give me the courtesy of admitting that. Thank you.
OBVIOUSLY. The other poster vomiting unqualified statistics either knows this and is being dishonest, or he doesn't know this and never cared to think out this points before tossing them out. Either way... good luck penetrating that bubble... dishonesty and willful ignorance have no cure...
I will be happy to give as much detail as you did. I would like to add many laws to our current legal system to reduce gun deaths. You want none. Got it. I gave as much as you did.
I have no idea. I just know drunk driving still happens. Quite a lot in fact. Rapes still happen, despite laws against it. Murders still happen despite laws against it. Bank robberies still happen despite laws against it.
How can you sit there and not be embarrassed of yourself, talking this way? You cannot possibly, honestly think that any of that is a good argument against laws banning those activities.
I gave you as much detail as I could. If I had more to offer I would. I have to admit I expected more from you. Again, the worst that can happen is I don’t agree with your plan. Why is that so bad?
