If Mohammad was alive today, and had sex with a kid, would Muslims demand jail time?

Please note that I've condemned the barbarity, the savagery, of the Biblical invisible friend many many times on this forum. He is not better than Allah, of course - their brutality knows no bounds.

But religious people don't understand that, so asking them "can you condemn god for his Holocaust in his "flood"?" is a legitimate question. They usually fail that question miserably, unlike a Modern Secular Humanist.

Are THOSE people in your example today considered by 1.5 billion people to be the ultimate role model of all time?

You do a great service to humanity as many times I've pointed out the savagery in one religion you point out a very similar savagery in another religion. Yes, most all religions are savage. We appreciate what you do here - keep up the great work.

I would not hold them up as the pillar, the epitome, of my overall belief system like Muslims do with Mohammad, that's for sure. They don't claim to be god's final and best prophet, don't claim to be the best role model for all time, for one thing. But, for example, I do like the current trend of removing statues of heroes of old who were barbaric racists - like we are seeing more and more of in the US South (brutal slaver-owners who were heroes of their time.) Yes, I believe we can move to higher standards than ancient texts and ancient men.

Are you saying that .1.5 billion people are emulating what you say Mohamed did with children as a role model?

Mohamed like cats but 1.5 billion people do not think that he was being a role model in that respect

So not everything that Mohamed did is considered to be a moral role model is it? The stuff in the Koran is apparently what is considered to be a role model So is child abuse mandated in the Koran. By the way various sorts of really abhorrent stuff is in the Old Testament as a role model. And Jesus said to follow the old testament as well.... so there is that. Role model wise

You don't get it, do you? Ask your Muslim friends this question and you'll see what I mean: "Will you condemn Allah for not telling Mohammad to not have sex with 9-year old Aisha, and to not have masturbated on her thighs when she was 6?"
    Go ahead, ask them.

Hey, I do not want to defend any religion... including Muslim.
I think Mohamed was a man living about 13 centuries ago among Bedouin tribes. And as such he would have lived i a way that was proper for that time and place.... and that behavior would not be acceptable today, and his followers likely ignore the uncomfortable truths that you want to discuss

But all religion is a matter of picking a choosing .... which Christians do also.
But if it makes you happy, from all we know about Christ... his life and values seem to fit more easily into what people today consider a moral life

that ain't either Mohammed or allah. that's AlTabari written over 200 years after mo's death. A common enough trait in religous scriptures MISREPRESENTING dogma to fit contemporary social mores and desires.

Actuall, your attempt to impose 21st centure cultural sensibilities on 2000 year old religious dogmatic mythology is intellectually dishonest.

It's not particularly on the dogma, but rather on the barbarians themselves who still believe that said texts are "from an all-knowing god".

But if you were ALLAH you'd have told Mohammad to not pork the child because it would be of course the WRONG thing to do in the long run, in the end, as we know today of course....right? I would have.

They "ignore the truths" because said truths show that he's not the best role model for all time - so therefore the Qur'an is dead wrong, and it shows that Allah is not actually real - or that Allah doesn't give a damn about creating a role model who has been followed (millions of Muslims have had sex with kids because Mohammad set the example) millions of times. Even the evil Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini had sex with a poor little girl because Mohammad set a bad moral example.

    Muslims believe those writings, though.
If you had Allah's alleged super-powers, and cared about the world the way Allah allegedly does, would you have done something to get (apparently) more accurate info out about your #1 boy Mohammad, such as just tell the world the truth (the truth as you see it that Mohammad did NOT have sex with a child?) I would have, because I care about the world.....how about you?

Secular Humanists are no more moral than anyone else.

Hitler, Stalin and Mao were Secular Humanists.

If I may ask, what is the point of this thread?

Maybe we both agree that religion is bunk
Or are you trying to distinguish one religions bunk from another religions bunk?

Barbarians have always been at the gates.

OTOH, the Islamists are disgusting puny defective human beings. Just like every other fanatic bigot, they are so far out there as to be the very apostates they accuse their many innocent victims of being.

Look, neither of us believes in any religious dogma let alone the utterly looney interpretations by criminal sociopathic perverted apostate Islamists.

I think most muslims feel pretty much the same way about Deash and AQ and the various other "clans of bandits" masquerading as Islam's vengeful champions against the apostates and unbelievers. Most decent people are disgusted by their evil masquerade.

Christian twelve year-old girls can get married today at this very hour in America. Don't Christian women want to get married to Yeshua?

    Read Leviticus.

The "person" I would refer to is the supreme person worshipped by billions of humans today. And, his law called for outrageous executions of those who committed trivial offenses that harmed nobody.

So you are in total agreement about the three years and a day age for toddler girls getting raped but you say that the two years and a day age is wrong. http://www.come-and-hear.com/niddah/niddah_44.html#44b

But in Niddah 45a one rabbi says that it's perfectly OK to rape girls who are two years and a day old. He did some fancy calculating because he liked them really, really young. And it's part of the Talmud which countless Jews have been taught to obey. http://www.come-and-hear.com/niddah/niddah_45.html Note the explanation of footnote #2.

Picture the parents sitting around in a group pimping out their babies to each other at one of their sex parties. Imagine how proud they were when their little girl reached two years and a day (three years and a day for you) and put her on the block to be raped by the highest bidder in exchange for a chance to get their grubby hands on someone else's little girl.

Hey, it's all in the book that they wrote to instruct Jews on how they should live their lives. You do follow it, don't you or are you a heretic?

"In many ways, the Gemara clarifies the Mishnah, establishing which halachic opinions are binding, providing derivations for the laws, and teaching moral lessons in the form of homilies and stories. After Rav Ashi passed away in 426 CE, Ravina II, who died in 500 CE, continued the final editing and halachic writing. At that point, the Jewish people accepted that the Babylonian Talmud, composed of the Mishnah and the Gemara, was the final halachic authority. No one could decide any matter contradictory to the Talmud, and all future decisions had to be based on it. To this day, the sine qua non of an observant Jew is his adherence to the Talmud, and one who denies any teaching of the Talmud is considered a heretic."

Agreed! Yes, Christianity/Bible is just as bad as Islam/Qur'an (worse, in many cases) - but Christians won't admit that.
