It's a weird dynamic we're seeing right now, angry homosexuals and American conservatives banding awkwardly together against Russia, not because the conservatives really care that much about it but because it provides an opportunity to accuse Obama of weakness.

Since I'm not a politician or pundit I have the luxury of saying that I think Putin is a great leader and I wish the best for Russia and I hope that people in Ukraine get to decide their own course.

You know many people in our country absolutely do not interested in these questions.
Our people are more spiritual than on the West (I so think)
They are busy with their work, family, hobbies, socializing, farmland and them no time for such thoughts.
Probably therefor they don't like a liberal human right defenders. They consider them as slackers.

i dont see a lot of spiritual in "work, family, hobbies, socializing, farmland" ...i have been in India and did see nothing spiritual in their $hity way of life. they did try to sell some "spiritual " to me , but it did not work well for them. what is impotent that development is impossible with out those components : "democracy, human rights, social - economical-juridical justices, "

Hey Litwin, The German Magazine Speigel has an article on the heros of Kiev, who are now organizing to fight the Russians. If you know anything about history, and how the Nazi thugs took over Germany, the following excerpts will sound very familiar. Is it any wonder the Russians in Crimea and now in Eastern Ukraine want to liberate themselves before it's too late:

...Their unit is called the group of "Three Hundreds," Their ideal is that of the national partisan and they have organized in order to defend the Ukrainian state. They include hard-boiled right-wing extremists who view the toppling of President Viktor Yanukovych as only the first step of a national revolution...

... they formed the backbone of the revolt against the Yanukovych government. When protests turned violent, it was right-wing groups who threw Molotov cocktails and carried firearms...

...Kolokolov used to be a criminal investigator, but together with his fellow members of the Right Sector. they now want to take responsibility for public order into their own hands...

...Some of the militias from Maidan are now acting like criminal gangs; many of them are loose -- and violence-prone -- groups of nationalists, though not as ideological as the Right Sector. Just last week, masked militiamen attacked a cement factory after being paid to do so by businessmen interested in taking over the company that owns it. There have been other reports of similar incidents, such as an assault on a vodka distillery...

You should not have to communicate these concepts.
When I was speak about spirituality, had in mind the fact that the Russian people do not identify themselves as separate from their country, they want that their country will be as strong, powerfull and wealthy, as their family.
To do this everyone should do work to their jobs and not to remain in constant denial of the obvious and search some unknown ideals and norms.
Our human rights activists all apparently without exception going through a midlife crisis, they are mired in psychedelic of Dostoevsky, lost the true landmarks in life.
Our people do not see problems in society.
We have no human right violations. In progress the reforms in the judical system. Is perfectly functioning anti-corruption police and GDP is grown steadily.
Do not try to sow doubt in our souls - we have strong beliefs and we love our country.

The agreement was intended to stop the immediate escalation of violence between protest groups, both of whom do bad things. When this level of violence was attained in Kiev, it soon devolved into firebombs, sniper attacks etc.. They don't want the same thing to happen here. The agreement was NOT about resolving all differences and working out the future of Ukraine. It will be a LONG time before they do that, but we need to stop the fighting right now. That's why these things aren't mentioned, because it had to be a full "agreement" which they achieved.

You post yet another dishonest thread where the material you post has nothing whatsoever to back up the claim the thread is based on. What actions did Russia actually take that you claim are what Hitler did? All you could post was this document, which YOUR side ALSO agreed. If signing it is like Hitler than your leaders did the same.

The topic isn't really Russia as a people, so you should make/find a thread about your claim that there are no human-rights violations in Russia. I would then show you how they infringe on many human rights; including free speech and free press, which automatically undermine democracy.

You don't support them, that's for sure. You overthrew a democracy to replace it with fascism, without a vote. You would support to this fascism while they trample human rights. They've removed Russia as a second language, for what reason besides xenophobia? Waving or displaying a Russian flag was outlawed, the right to free press was destroyed as they ban any journalists and networks whose messages they don't like are suppressed. They banned peaceful protest, labelling them "terrorists" (how hypocritical considering how they gained their power) and just yesterday they banned the free movement of even their own people crossing the border, to separate families, just in time for Easter.

This is becoming not just a police state, but an apartheid police state. You support it.

I wondered too when this all began what all the talk of Russia and Nazi Germany was all about. However if you check out this http://nyyrc.com/blog/2014/03/geopolitik-russias-foreign-policy-plans-explained/ it would appear that Russia is indeed working in the same way with similar ambitions and attitude...the intention is certainly to achieve their aims in a much less violent way but the end result not too different, assuming this information is correct and it is very full with lots of links. Aleksandr Dugin is apparently Putin's mentor.

The "end result" of Hitler's actions were the death of millions, so many that you can measure in percentage points, including innocents blown up or destroyed in their genocide, huge swathes of Europe completely levelled, and a complete overhaul of the global power structure and borders.

It's a bit premature to think the results will be anywhere near this, unless you want to say it while on the street while ringing a bell.

Why can't you just address what I say? All you ever have is random irrelevant links and media that don't back up what you say, this one not even on English, despite that this forum is English language.

That is only one way of looking at it and who would know what the end result would be. What is important is the intentions. Hitler wanted to create his Aryan Empire. If you read the information you will find that that is also what Putin's advisor's want. They want the Russian one from Dublin to can't remember the furtherest place of Russia I imagine.

Read the information before saying it is not so. It is quite sobering.

I have been one of the biggest critics of the UK and USA and I certainly would prefer a different way of doing things but that way is not ethnic Nationalism ruled by Russia.

That's the same thing as I'm saying. Any number of things could happen. Disputed states can live years, even decades, with major powers eventually forgetting about it and moving on in their agenda... Like Kosovo, Palestine, South Ossetia etc. Maybe Russia took what they wanted and then it stops there. Maybe Russia do want some more, so they will invade once the NATO army come to square up, if they will do that. Maybe WW3 rages on for decades, or maybe one side gets trounced. Maybe they'll agree to federalize, who knows. But what Russia's true plan is will remain a mystery, before they do it.

I agree. It's also not being ruled by anti-Russian nationalists in Kiev, in an apartheid state. Ukraine should be fragmented.

You can easily find out what Russia's true plan is. It is well documented. I gave you the link but you refuse to look.

They are far less likely to have taken what they wanted when they already have a plan to take much more would you not say? Ukraine they see as a pretty useless state given that it has so many ethnicities in it. Hence best just to have it as a non aligned state under Russia supervision.

Why do you think the people of Ukraine do not have the right to be self determining?

How the hell do you think you are going to be ruled by anti Russian nationalists in the Ukraine? That is ridiculous. Why should the Ukrainians want to be taken over by Russia? I have from time to time heard East Europeans speak on forums and all I have heard want to be well away from Russia. Why do you want East Europeans to be taken over by Russia and not have freedom of choice and self determination.

It is not the EU, the USA or the Ukrainians who are wanting an 'apartheid state' as you call it. It is one country and one country only and that country is Russia. Most East Ukrainians also want to be a united country. Crimea was illegally taken over with beatings arrests and torture of the opposition and don't take my word for it, that is what the UN says. Russia has now admitted to having her forces there.
