The simple truth is Obama made finding OBL a priority while Bush's remarks make clear his "I don't really think about it" attitude. Why he was caviler about finding OBL is anyone's guess but............

    The Deafness Before the Storm

    https://www.nytimes.com/2012/09/11/opinion/the-bush-white-house-was-deaf-to-9-11-warnings.html

IT was perhaps the most famous presidential briefing in history.

On Aug. 6, 2001, President George W. Bushreceived a classified review of the threats posed by Osama bin Laden and his terrorist network, Al Qaeda. That morning’s “presidential daily brief” — the top-secret document prepared by America’s intelligence agencies — featured the now-infamous heading: “Bin Laden Determined to Strike in U.S.” A few weeks later, on 9/11, Al Qaeda accomplished that goal.

But heck, Hillary had a private server so................

Without precise actionable intelligence there was nothing President Bush could do to prevent 9-11

I've been seeing the left-wing bias since I was a teenager in the early 80's when there was only three major channels ABC/CBS/NBC and also PBS/NPR.

Thanks for your opinion. But it doesn't address the fact that when you dismiss factual reporting based solely on who is reporting it you make Don smile.........and in so doing you make Putin smile.

Despite what you, Sandy Shanks and others of your ilk have been claiming for years, we've never seen a bit of evidence that Vladimir Putin is a supporter of President Trump.

No Putin is like all other world leaders - he thinks Trump is an idiot studying to be a moron and as such was his ideal candidate to bring America down. Putin is not pro-trump he is anti- America And you know there has been ample evidence that Trump just loves his buddy Putey boy

I've seen no evidence of that. I don't take seriously the various statements he has made over the years. Nor should you.

It's been many decades since anyone with actual morals and integrity ran for public office. I dont expect that change any time soon.

Have you never held a leadership position? I suppose it would be one thing if one was in, say the military where one's underlings have no choice, but in the rest of the world, leadership requires balancing the needs of differing interests. It is a lot easier to get people to follow you if you can address their their needs.

Exactly. Take for example Iran. Is Trump showing great leadership when it comes to Iran? Well, let's see.

Trump has placed his military on high alert in response to what military and intelligence officials have deemed specific and credible threats from Iran against U.S. personnel in the Middle East. The "military and intelligence officials" won't tell us what those threats are.

Now we are being told that Trump is frustrated with some of his top advisers, who he thinks could rush the United States into a military confrontation with Iran and shatter his long-standing pledge to withdraw from costly foreign wars, according to several U.S. officials. Trump prefers a diplomatic approach to resolving tensions and wants to speak directly with Iran’s leaders.

What a bunch of crock! Is this another one of Trump's jokes?

During his entire Presidency, Trump always wants it both ways. How many times have we been told that Trump says one thing, and his advisors say the very opposite? How about every week for the past 29 months?

This is how he thinks he can have it both ways. In addition, if something goes wrong with a policy decision, he can blame somebody else even though he is totally responsible for everything his administration does.

For example, a bad war with Iran, by pretending to the media that he is frustrated with Bolton, he can blame a bad war on Bolton. We are supposed to forget that when he hired Bolton he knew perfectly well that Bolton wanted a regime change in Iran, which could only mean a war with Iran. Bolton made no secret of his Iranian goals. He bellowed his views weekly on Fox News.

We are also supposed to forget that Trump walked away from a working landmark deal one year ago that permanently barred Iran from making a nuke. Trump increased the sanctions against Iran. Trump designated the Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps a terrorist group. Trump ended the waivers that allowed a handful of countries to purchase Iranian oil without running afoul of American sanctions. Trump announced that the United States would penalize countries who traded with Iran. Trump has moved a carrier strike group, B-52 bombers, and Patriot missiles into the region.

Noting that the Persian nation hasn't attacked anyone in two centuries, Trump wants us to believe Iran is threatening to attack American forces in the region.

All of which begs a question. Who is threatening who?

Next we come to the evidence of the Iranian threat. Trump has been unwilling to show that evidence. Even Republican Senators like Graham were concerned. They didn't know anything, either. Here is the latest on that issue.

The Pentagon is working with its Defense Intelligence Agency to declassify and release images to back up the Trump administration's claims of a growing threat from Iran. The evidence could be released within a day because the White House recognizes it needs to disclose more documentation to skeptical allies, U.S. lawmakers and the public.

Included are images of the two dhows, slow-moving vessels that U.S. analysts believe were carrying cruise missiles that are designed to attack land targets and would be fired directly from the boats rather than shipped to other locations.

Two slow moving boats with cruise missiles are a threat to our troops? Cruise missiles fired from boats? Is that even possible? I have never heard of such a thing. Is this a joke?

The vessels could be easily disguised among the many dhows that transit the Persian Gulf in routine commerce. The two dhows were among the "threat streams" from Iran that the U.S. detected in the two weeks since General Kenneth McKenzie, head of U.S. Central Command, alerted Acting Defense Secretary Patrick Shanahan, one of the officials said.

Oh, this is getting better and better.

Then there is this. The Iranian military also has been seen moving around the country more than usual.

And this, another official said that the potential Iranian threats also include moving land-based missiles into position to fire on U.S. troops in Iraq, with drones spotting targets or attacking as well.

Did that official look at a map recently? Iran borders Iraq. Iranian land-based missiles have been in position to fire on on U.S. troops since 2003 with eight digit grid accuracy. That doesn't mean they will.

In fact, it is extremely unlikely they will. The Persians are not suicidal.

We are the invaders, not Iraq. We have 5,200 troops just across the Iranian border in Iraq. We invaded Iraq in 2003 based on lies. Trump has the balls to say Iran is threatening the U.S.!

My source goes on to say, "But others familiar with the evidence are more skeptical, saying the significance of the photos of dhows with missiles and convoys of militias is unclear, according to a person familiar with the intelligence."

    Well, no kidding.

If Trump get us in a disastrous war with Iran and its many proxies in the Mideast without giving Americans a good reason for doing so, even the Republicans will want to impeach his butt.

You can't be taken seriously. 5,200 troops in Iraq, a single carrier group and four B-52s are no threat to Iran. You and everyone else well knows that.

A world without left-wingers, of course.

You know. The left-wingers that want to raise taxes, increase regulation, confiscate guns, jail gun owners, open borders, etc.

No, exactly what is your vision of that world?

Do you see it as everyone having a job?

Do you see it as a land where anyone can do whatever they like?

    What is your vision?

And you also support the anti abortion laws that will restrict the freedom of women?

How about the role of the government in regulating immigration?
