great article , my question : will USA do something with this or not, will if defend KSA as it has promised in many agreements ? If Muscovy conventional or using nukes attacks , what ´ll happen with oil prices, can it eventually save dying Muscovite economy?

At this time, I don't know if the United States will get involved if it is proven that the Russian airline crash was the work of terrorists.

If Russia attacks Saudi refineries all hell is going to break out in the region as the Saudi money isn't just benefiting the royal family, but also the super rich in many other ME countries created specifically for those rich people. They do have the $$ to buy the missiles and the terrorist networks to do massive destruction to Russia's natural gas pipeline and oil pipeline systems.

Yes oil prices would soar, but the loser would be Russia and the winners would be the fracking and other oil and gas production in Canada, the USA and Mexico. Blow up the natural gas pipelines to Europe and the Russian economy is obliterated, Europe's economy severely damages, and the oil/gas rich Americas is the long term winner.

Russia launches a nuclear weapon? That is just fear mongering nonsense to even ponder nor necessary to destroy refineries. If Putin even attempted to order launching a nuclear attack all we would read is that Putin unfortunately had a heart attack and died. If a Russian nuclear warhead hit the Saudis Vegas should start a lottery where people place they're bet on the date a nuke goes off in Moscow.

The ME oil empire knows no national boundaries. They collectively have the money to buy anything they want, including a few nuclear weapons. Probably could even buy a couple of them on the Russian black market.

The fear-mongering of some over Putin is quite silly. He can make all the threats he wants and knows paranoid people will believe them. But actually they are just nonsense and he knows it. So do our intelligent people.

It would be G R E A T if the ME fury against the West instead shifted to being against Russia - plus they don't have to travel across 3000 miles of ocean to get into Russia. Terrorism in Russia would go off the charts.

Actually, all the bull(*)(*)(*)(*) that happens in the ME is caused by the US. So the outrage of people in ME is justified against the US. Moreover, in the EU are also not happy about US policy in ME that caused a huge movement of refugees in the EU.

Litwin, I have not heard on Russian TV that they blame SA in the attack of the airplaine. High officials currently try to avoid any conclusions, at least publically. In any case, noone is going to use nuclear or conventional weapons. If they find out the names of the organizers, most probably these terrorists will be liquidated quietly, without noise.

I have news for you, Russians never make threats, they consider it a sign of weakness. They say things nice and politely, and let the others know they are being watched. If they persist in their provocations and offenses, then the Russians will ACT.

They might be stopping all Russian flights to Tunisia and Turkey. I think they are worried about the people working at the airports, I know I would be.

The Pres. of Chechnya Kadyrov made a call last week to all the Muslims in the world, to start fighting ISIS. He considers them a stain on Islam. He said his men made a vow in 1998 that they would fight terrorism no matter where it is.

Many people in the world would be happy if anybody wiped out the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. This country supported terrorists all over the world for decades and is responsible maybe for millions deaths. Saudis funded Arab mercenaries in Chechen wars, and Saudis have never tried to pretend they are Russia's friends. They were too arrogant for this. So, what's wrong? After dinner comes the reckoning.

Litwin, you are right. I have just looked first part of the article. Now I have read it until the end. I think this is just a speculation of Bortnikov (the author of the paper). I believe this is unlikely scenario he describes. He compares Crimea, when Putin acted quite fast and the situation now. But these two situations are different, so the response can not be the same (military).

The only people who claim the Saudis fund terrorists don't know anything at all about Arabia or their track record over the past 70 years.

You mean the war in Ukraine? I think it was already over when Putin refused to give support Donbass by sending there regular army troops and pushing them to postpone the local elections. Currently, there is no war in Ukraine.

Putin's threats are designed for a home made for TV audience in Russia.

No one in the U.S. takes Putin's threats seriously considering the incredibly vast military disparity existing between the vastly capable U.S. Military and the greatly degraded Russian Military.

No one with half a brain would be so stupid as to attack the U.S. Military unless they had a death wish.
