Hawai's currency is based on the USD and the rate of exchange, the yen is not the dominant currency. Most heavy tourist areas deal with the currency difference as it relates to the dollar.
umm.... Hawaii doesn't have a currency. The shop owners can accept chickens as payment if they're willing to do that. The true value of USD is that debts can always be paid using it. If chickens were considered legal tender, they'd have to accept chickens as payment. You could probably get away with using USD, but chickens would have to be accepted if you had no dollars.
You said Hawaii's currency is based on the USD. I was just trying to explain the concept of legal tender.
Obviously a useless endeavor because you still think there's a Hawaiian currency. All I can suggest is a world tour where you can go around and notice that no matter where you go, your visa card is accepted. It's an international automatic currency exchange in card form. So this excuse that Hawaii can't coin their own money is just another excuse for people who claim to want socialism but with the ability to print fiat currency, and they'll just keep adding zeroes to the bills until utopia has been attained. If you want socialism, talk to your governor. The federal government has better things to do than entertain national suicide.
Those are all dystopias made by madmen and tyrants, The Constitution has saved us from that type of thing these 232 years and I hope it will continue to preserve us from such evils for many, many more
