    Trump has backpedaled on that threat since it was pointed out to him that it would be a war crime.

    What is the "score" to settle? The Jews have been in Palestine as long as Persians
    have been in Iran. If there's any real settling then it must be for the 480,000 Jews
    who were driven out of Iran and the Middle East after 1948. Compensation is due.

    Sneaking tens of thousands of missiles past UN inspectors isn't a war crime.
    Nor is lying to nuclear inspectors a war crime. Only America has war crimes.

    It makes sense because America insists that is a stabilizing force the region, and Iran attacking Israel will even further destabilize things.

    More like "Gnat's Flitter Around Lightbulb and Crash". I get a far worse response from my wife for getting falling-down drunk...not that I get the way...well, not too often...every 20 years or so...probably because her response is so "spot on", unlike this baby burb. Gnats trying to frighten an eagle. Please. A little reality here.

    This was a “save face” strike. Iran launched their inaccurate and unreliable mussels at one of the furthest targets available. They took a small chance that significant damage would result but it didn’t. The stock market and price of oil are up and down respectively. IMO the “retaliation from Iran is over.

    I don't want to talk about "propaganda" with you, since some of your comments (millions attending General Soleimani's funeral at 'gun point') shows you are hopeless on the front. But to answer your question:

    Iran chose the Al Asad air base for several reasons:
    1- This was the air base that housed and was used to fly the drone that assassinated General Soleimani.
    2- This was a major US 'renovated' air base and the one which Trump had said the Iraqis would have to pay for if they wanted the US to leave.
    3- This was the air base used by the US in some of its surveillance and other activities against Iranian backed forces at the Imam Ali base in eastern Syria near the Iraq border.

    no I think this just the 1st wave and shows. directly confrontation is not in irans interest. mostly likely they will intensify the revenge by using proxy later on. it could be days, month or years. US base/personal in the region can't be on alert for months after months.

    There are no crimes in war, only victors and losers. The real crime is in starting a war, which in Iran's case began on 11/4/1979. So I say, nuke the btch. It's the only way to be sure.
