When you don't get into Harvard or Yale, who are going to blame though? You can't look at yourself and say you're not competitive as an applicant. That would be too painful. Saying a spot that you would have gotten was taken by a rich, white legacy applicant who was less qualified than you will make you feel better in some ways, even if it isn't true.

Black women don’t get picked up easily either .....My colleague used to ask me to hail a cab for her and she was very pretty

And now we have Uber and Lyft and don't have to deal with a city enforced monopoly creating overly choosy drivers. Yay capitalism! We fixed it!

I am talking about how women were denied equality and didn’t have the white privilege of applying to Harvard or Yale. Who would you blame? It was white male privilege. But then women did something and started a movement and guess what? my daughters and granddaughters can apply. Obviously you take these admissions for granted. Do you think Harvard and Yale and Princeton and other great networking universities just opened the doors to women to be nice? There were lots of things that I couldn’t do that young women take for granted and they didn’t happen in a vacuum

My bad! I should have put a period after what dinkin said....I was trying to show that you aren’t viewed with suspicion merely because of your color and that is what David Dinkins was trying to impress upon us

Yes... and all of this occurred quite a ways in the past

Yes it happened in the past and we will look at things that are discriminatory now in the next generation and say oh that was in the past. If you don’t remember the past you can’t make the future better

Your armchair analytics is quite touching, and so far off the mark it's sad. You have no idea how I deal with people that are discriminated against. You have no idea what my compassion is, yet you continue to use the phrase racism, which, BTW, is completely inappropriate in most instances.

The liberals paint the 'white privilege' to attempt to make people feel guilty, and make them believe they obtained nothing on their own merits, regardless of their skin color. Are their people who do use their skin color to their advantage? Yep, you only need to look at Hollywood.

You need a dose of reality.

You obviously don't know me. You speak to me like I'm a millennial snowflake Progressive or something..... I'm one of the biggest proponents of personal responsibility on this board. It is what has convinced the Progressives I must be an undercover Republican ;) If I applied to Harvard or Yale or community college and didn't get accepted, I'd take the responsibility. Period.

So now you're admitting we don't have a problem?

    We're getting somewhere!

I judge you by your words and draw my conclusions. When you say ridiculous things like we are trying to make people feel guilty by using the term white privilege I know that you are very angry that you have to share the pie that you once had for yourself.Did you use your race and gender to your advantage? You did and you probably didn’t even know it
I do seminars in prejudice awareness and it is you who needs the dose of reality.

Women WERE denied. That whole past tense thing seems to be ignored an awful lot, kind of like slavery.

Women have been graduating with Harvard degrees for over 50 years. Prior to that, Harvard professors taught at the all-women Radcliffe College.

White, hetero, cis-male, Christian privilege is little more than a convenience. It's an excuse, a a person blames circumstances outside their control for their failures. The women, like blacks, who fought for civil rights would be sickened by the victim mentality prevalent among those groups today. They'd probably have said **** it and gave up trying.:roflol::roflol:

Instead of your petty, personal insults, try answering my question. How does one 'check' their privilege? What real action can they take?
Just some SJW, virtue signalling, platitude.

Women were not admitted to Harvard undergraduate school and Radcliffe was “the sister college“ it did not have the networking system nor the endowments that Harvard had. I am one of those women who fought for civil rights and I am sickened by your calling us victim mentality and I am sickened by white men who like to think for women and blacks ...who like to believe that women and blacks were not victims!! Well I guess victimizers think that way

Of course you do, we can tell. Trust me.
So, how do I 'check' my 'privilege'?
I need someone 'woker' and more 'educated' than me to explain it. It makes zero sense, just a feel good, platitude.

The action you can take it to become aware of discrimination. You can’t deal with the problem if you don’t know there is one
And I have to laugh at your constantly cloaking yourself in self righteous indignation about personal insults and then you end it with personal insults. If you can’t take the heat ......

So just some mental 'action'? Exactly what I thought. Just some feel good ' I am woke, I'm better than those 'uneducated extremist' mentality.
That's great, gives you a reason to look down your arrogant (tolerant my ass) nose at others. The very thing you profess to be against. As fake as a wooden nickle.

I shudder that you are tasked with 'educating' anyone. I would not allow you to train my dog.

    ROFL :roflol:

In between poetry slams and the vagina monologues, would be my guess.

Good God, seminars to whine about historical wrongs. Talk about not wanting to move forward from the past. This is as bad as arguing modern day racial equality with someone who is still hung up on wanting reparations for slavery.

Holy hell, it's 2019, it's past time for folks to stop the whining and put away the victim cards.

I love it when people never ask about of course but just make assumptions. There are many prejudices like ageism, disabilities, sexual orientation, geographical, sexism, racism etc I especially love it when women need to say things for male approval. Why don’t you go back to being denied credit when you get married, why don’t you go back to being paid less for the same work, why don’t you go back to being denied entry to the top colleges where you’re assured top employment Wasn’t it so much better when we didn’t have women sitting on the Supreme Court and running states and cities?
It’s 2019 and perhaps people should be whining about the rise in white supremacist hate groups and anti Semitism. Those people mass killed because of the race and religion nationality the victims should have just put away the victim cards or maybe they should just put the victim cards in their caskets

He would be smart enough to see how stupid your avatar is .
Ok...I am going to do what I encourage my students to do and that is not waste time with people who will not hear you. The worst insult is indifference and I am going to put you on ignore for a while until you get your composure back

People like you are helping to create and embolden them. Imagine that, calling people 'racist' over every perceived slight eventually pisses of some of them off and causes them to feel under attack and embrace the label.

You are such an 'educated' teacher, answer me this. If you constantly tell a kid how bad he is (for every little thing, no matter how minor) what will the end result be? People are getting sick of your kind and your message of 'whites are bad and evil'

If I ever become 'racist' it will be reserved for the self loathing, white liberal, SJW, white guilt, posturing pawns of the Democratic party, stoking the flames of division and 'victimhood'. It is your type who are the problem, but your vast amount of 'education' wont allow you to see the obvious.

We all remember which is why you've had affirmative action. Black women are in fact the most degreed demographic in the nation, since they had it double plus bad.

It's time to put all that top down, legal discrimination based on race and sex, away. It's in the past.

    Let equal protection hold sway
