The term islamophobia is fraudulent in and of itself. Seeing there is no rational reason to fear Islam is ridiculous. We can look at places where Islam as the majority and these places have backward laws and bizarre punishments for things that aren't even considered crimes in the West.

I think it's very rational and very reasonable to fear Islamic expansion in any way.

 

Really. Please show us the passages from the NT that you are using as evidence for your contention. I must have missed that evidence. You must be getting this from the OT? Perhaps you should read the NT, while understanding it is the rule book for christianity, while the OT is the rule book of the Jews.

Christ, unlike Mohammed, did not lead an army, bent on conquest and subjegation of non believers. I think that difference is very relevant.

 

Anytime I've ever pointed this out to anybody who makes this type of argument they always say "but the Bible..." or "But Christianity..." and then carry on about something that happened five hundred years ago.

I don't think people who say these things are speaking from any particular knowledge per se but I really think it's more about dishonesty then it is about the knowledge of the religion involved.

Another thing I've often witnessed in discussions like this when you mention Islam and it's practices and dogma, people accuse you of hating Muslims. Because you took the time to learn about their religion and how it's practiced you hate them.

None of this is honest discussion, it's personal attacks and demonizing in order to discredit anyone who criticizes Islam because of the things it practices without criticizing Christianity.

 

The interesting thing about the whole deal is that Islam is what they think being conservative is. Islam is absolutely misogynistic it absolutely professors an enforced patriarchy, they do want their religion to rule everyone. They do intend on forcing it on you whether you like it or not.

 

I don’t disagree with you. However I do think that you underestimate the power of these religious beliefs on peoples behavior. When an ideology that is founded on a book that was clearly to be interpreted as the truth, contains the promotion of violence against others, it is a dangerous system of beliefs. Just because a majority of people may not follow it by the letter and interpret it differently doesn’t mean that ideas itself are not dangerous. This is not exclusive to just Islam but Christianity as well and I am not one to shy away from critizing it just as harshly. However the reality is that Islam has not experienced a reformation like Christianity has. And because if this we see in many Islamic majority countries the amount of violence and discrimination against women and people who do not follow they’re own beliefs. This is not because of western culture or interventionism (granted it has helped) but because of the tenets of Islam interpreted as they were intended.

 

So, we have a couple verses in the New testament, that may be traced to violence, and that compares with many, many, hundreds in Islam that relate to violence, and that makes it even.....MMMM>>>KK

The entire storyline of Muhammed is violence, murder, rape, thievery.

And Jesus never did any of these things.

It's not a mater of being God or not. Muhammed is the main character in a religion followed by over a billion people.
He is the person people are supposed to pattern their lives after.
He was a liar, thief, murderer, rapist, terrorist, slave trader, and a slew of other adjectives, none good.

Jesus for example, was none of these.
