Not only this but there is enough in the Quran that one can use to condemn apostasy laws, aside from common sense - like the fact as OJLeb already stated, in order to be a true believer requires individual will and desire to do so - the Quran repeatedly says this as well.

Then what is the recompense for those who do that among you except disgrace in worldly life; and on the Day of Resurrection they will be sent back to the severest of punishment. Joseph Smith wrote the Book of Mormon and it's all garbage. The committees did a better job in comparison but some members were sub-par.
