Nah, I'm sure the verse was being literal about the amount of blood . . . in which case I guess Jerusalem's enemies are literally going to attack on horseback . . . right?
Jewish eschatology doesn't seem similar to Revelation to me. http://www.apocalypse-soon.com/jewish_eschatology.htm
The main problem with orthodox Christians, is that they ignore what Christ tried to teach their ancestors. The Kingdom of God in within consciousness, not "out there" "outside" in the physical world. So, all of this talk about the return of Christ HAS to take place within consciousness itself, not up in the sky. So, all of them have it completely wrong, although it does make for a damn good horror film. But such a film only scares the children, not the mature in spirit adult.
Good time to thank the unbelievers and apostates on the forum as they are called out in the prophetic scriptures foretold many years ago: 2 Peter 3:3 knowing this: that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts Jude 1:18 how they told you that there would be mockers in the last times who would walk after their own ungodly lusts. As........ 2 Corinthians 4:3 And even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to them that perish: Thx again for helping to build my faith by avowing the prophetic truths in the scriptures.......
Jewish eschatology says the world lasts 6,000 years from creation to the end times... So there are 225 years to go.
Close...but no cigar. If one goes by the Bible chronology, which I personally went thru on my own 30+ yrs ago and detailed (with some assumptions) from Adam (the day he died/birth & actual life span unknown, as from the fall "the day you eat you shall surely die") and came out with what many recognize as God's "divine timetable." Adam became 'mortal' at around 4000 BC Solomon (a type of the Lord as King) born 1000 BC Birth of the Messiah circa 0 AD, so 4000 yrs into God's divine timetable. Then a 2000 yr Church Age following His death /Resurrection/Pentecost arrival of the H.S.)--for now 6000 yrs into God's divine plan. ('6' being the number of man) Then the 2nd Coming with a 1000 year Millennium following b4 the destruction of & a new earth, for a total God's divine plan being 7000 yrs or the Biblical number of "completion/perfection."
Take it up with the Jews... 6,000 years is their claim... so the end times arrive in 225 years. So you know more than the ancient Hebrews...... Imagine dinosaurs were living less than 6,000 years ago.
The Jews 'claim' to know their scriptures as 'learned' scribes, etc., and Jesus came right on time per the scriptures, yet they didnt recognize Him and killed Him.......so much for them knowing God's Divine Plan, huh?! I rest my 6-pack......
There isn't a microsecond in all of Christian history when these deceptively vague verses couldn't have been viewed as accurate.
Cool story, brah, but Adam is every bit as mythical as Jesus, and the death / resurrection of Jesus is a rehashed solar & seasonal death & rebirth allegory following motifs all too common at the time. I've heard bible literalism described as block-headed. Seems apt to me. People today can kind of be forgiven for it since we tend to grow up steeped in church-sponsored ignorance, though once a person reaches adulthood and has ready access to education about mythology and ancient history and cultures, I think people tend to lose all excuse for continuing in this block-headedness. There comes a point where you're choosing to retain a childish view of life, the universe and everything, rather like an adult who would continue to believe in Santa Clause.
Jesus was determined to be 33 YO at His death (priests were consecrated at 30 YO, He ministered thru 3 Passovers per the scriptures, ergo 33 yo at His death). His birth year is still up for a positive determination---Herod the Great who killed the babies died @ 4-5 BC when Jesus was born. So working backwards, Jesus' birth was in the range of 5 to 0 BC (3-2 BC most commonly accepted). If 5 BC and lived 33 yrs, then His 2nd Coming 2000 yrs later would be between 2028 AD and 2033 AD for that range.....so you havnt missed His 2nd Coming........YET! If you're still around in 2033 AD, look me up & I'll buy you a beer........
http://www.usbible.com/Astrology/gospel_zodiac.htm Aquarius, the Water Bearer, January 20-February 18 Water and light is the essence of all life (Gen 1:2-3). The sun needs water to bring new life into the world. 30 degrees on the Zodiac. Jesus is 30 years old when he begins his mission. (Luke 3:23). Jesus is baptized by John the Baptist (Matt. 3:13-17). John can be seen in the constellation Aquarius. See John the Baptist's Stars. Jesus temptation in the wilderness Matt. 4:1-11. The sun is too weak to overpower Satan, but it hasn't reversed into darkness. Aquarius covers Matt. 3:1-4:11 ... The Age of Pisces 6 BCE TO 2012 CE Before the sun entered Pisces Jesus was the Lamb of God in Aries. See When Was Jesus Born. 29The next day he saw Jesus coming toward him, and said, "Behold, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world! (John 1:29) After his resurrection, he entered Pisces the fish. 42They gave him a piece of broiled fish, 43and he took it and ate before them. (Luke 24:42-43). The Age of Pisces ends approximately in 2012 CE. This is when Jesus' time ends. 20"I am with you always to the end of the age." (Matt. 28:20). ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Jesus' time is up. Time for him to go away.
Wrong AGAIN! The “seventy sevens” prophecy in Daniel chapter 9 predicted the precise date that Jesus, the Messiah, would be “cut off.” 25 Know therefore and discern, that from the going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem unto the anointed one, the prince, shall be seven weeks, and threescore and two weeks: You know for someone who proclaims to know the scriptures you come across as either spiritually ignorant, or biased & faithless..
Much as been written on this prophecy (7-day week = 7 yrs, etc.)---Google it as I'm done hand holding ppl who dont 'really want to know'..
The 'nation' of Israel in your lame attempt at 'typing' anointed one & prince, again, just as the dead religious, supposed learned of His time, misses the message of the coming of the Messiah
No point in your bringing it up then if you have no interest in discussing. From the little you did write, it looks as if someone tried to shoehorn an answer.
Nope.. The Jews expected a messiah who would be mortal... an anointed warrior king like David who would vanquish their enemies. They cast themselves in the role of the suffering servant of God having NOTHING to do with any coming messiah. They were suffering under Roman occupation.
