    Actually, the last movie I went to see in a theater was American Sniper, before that it was the Changling circa 2006, before that it was Something About Mary. I typically don't watch movies at home and rarely go to see them in theaters, I'd rather watch documentaries or the news and things that I can pause while I grab another beer or hit the head. How much are popcorn and sodas these days? My wife still goes to the movies and she said the prices are hideous. I've even heard that some theaters are turning into high end restaurants with a movie being shown on the side.

    My lack of interest in movies and TV shows explains why I don't know who this peele guy is or any of the people involved with bribing colleges. All of my movie knowledge pretty much ends around 2002 or 2004 with just a few exceptions. The last actual movie I watched was Midway which I recorded and watched a few weeks ago, other than that, it's been months since I sat through any movie on TV or TV show that wasn't based on news, technology or history. Oh, I did record Schindler's List, but damn, that is a long ass movie to watch when I've already seen it.

    He started as a comedian. He's a funny guy. If you can get past the central theme of "Whitey Bad", his first movie was pretty good.

    Black directors making their own casting choices is a very good thing. It will lead to ALL directors casting who they want.
    I love horror movies and this one looks veery skeery.

    And how long has it been since directors not had the choice? 40 or 50 yrs. Think they had a choice even then. This ain’t the 30’s anymore.

    I love horror movies too. Just can’t recall any directors saying they choose actors by race “just because”. Well none that are currently working. Directors have been black balled for a lot less.

    Yeah, that's kinda weird. I bet there's been some awkward situations and conversations.

    White Mom and Wife... "I can't see myself casting white dudes as leads".

    He could probably use some therapy.

    My point is Hollywood "chose" white for a long time. ONE director making this comment should not be a big deal. The more diversity there is with directors and films...the less political correctness there will be and the result... just good movies.

    Political correctness is so contrived in movie characters. I was p@#sd when they turned Thor into a woman. Good god people invent another character.:laughing:

    Didn't black actors just boycott the Acadamy Awards or something for not hiring enough blacks or giving them awards or something?

    It does seem like a double standard doesn't it?

    Us wasn't a good movie. Overall, I liked the cast but the writing was sub par, IMO, and the female "shadows" scary voice was too silly to be scary. Get Out deserves its accolades.
