Most professional politicians are very smart and very crooked.

“In recent years, despite thousands of bills introduced into Congress every year, only a small percentage (approximately 5%) become law. Of course, what matters for laws is quality not quantity. But why would legislators bother to introduce so many hopeless bills? What if they are not even designed to pass? What if they are instead designed to make money? The cold harsh reality in Washington is this: the very conditions that are so maddening for most Americans —gridlock, problems being ignored, hyper partisanship — are the very conditions that are most lucrative for the Permanent Political Class. Washington may not be working for citizens, but it's working quite well for members of the Permanent Political Class who profit handsomely.” EXTORTION, "How Politicians Extract Your money, BuyVotes, And Line Their Own Pockets, Peter Schweizer, HMO, NY, NY, 2013, p. 7, 8.

Ordinary Americans are now onto the scam hence the rise of the independents.

Funny stuff. There are 10 million people living in LA County. 32 cases of typhus fever have been reported. And liberal progressivism is the cause. Now who could argue with that kind of logic?

It must be a blessing at times having such a simpleton's intellect where extrapolation & deductive reasoning doesn't exist. The issue is the policies that have led to the confined patches of real estate filled with the filth of feces & trash festering in the SoCal sun; with human, rodent & entomological hosts existing densely in its midst...

Yes, dear girl it must have been harrowing fleeing Venice Beach. And then having to live in New York. What is a sophisticate like you doing around uncouth Californians? Pathetic self loathing.

Extrapolation and deductive reasoning? I thought you said it was connecting the dots.

Actually, it's just an attempt to post divisive crap for no other reason than to keep dividing. And a silly one at that.

Typhus fever is caused by liberalism. Now that's some kind of logic . . . or lack thereof.

Allowing certain colonies the freedom to live within a city but, outside the constraints of Public Health laws is not one of the left's blessings, is it?
Or was it the Libertarians fault?

Such laxity is a threat to all as contagious diseases from the above conditions quoted, happen.

    Not likely.
Newport Beach has a way of helping them beyond city limits.

Truly don't understand your last line.

Whatever they were I can guarantee you that virtually none of them identified with the left wing scourge that has infected this country now. You can ask the few remaining. They reject your ideology.

I still think left wing posts like this are beyond hilarious. To rationalize left wing California's obscene level of homelessness they just blame it on "the weather". But when left wing New York also has obscene homelessness while the great states of Florida and Texas are nowhere close to that level they suddenly go silent. The ideology of liberalism. It's mental illness. It really is. It cannot stand factual criticism.

Washington D.C. has become one big donor party for the political class.

“They gather, all the brands, at the self-referential festivals, like the April White House Correspondents Association dinner, whose buffet of “pre-parties” and “after-parties” now number more than two dozen– because a single banquet, it is clear, cannot properly celebrate the full achievements of the People Who Run Your Country. … The insider swarm has been known by various names: “Permanent Washington”. “The Political Class”. “The Chattering Class”. “The Usual Suspects”. “The Beltway Establishment”. “The Echo Chamber”. “The Echo System”. “The Gang of 500”. “The Gang of 600”. “The Movable Mess”. “The Club”. Mark Leibovich, This Town, Penguin Books, 2013, p. 8.

And as we can see now "Permanent Washington" really hates outsiders.

The WW II generation of Democrats did not allow mountains of garbage pile up on the sidewalks or ignore epidemics.

The DP has failed the people of California and denying the existence of a typhus epidemic is not good politics for DP pols and their supporters.

"For months rat-infested trash has been piling up on Ceres Avenue, a street that connects downtown LA's bustling produce and garment districts. Now, health officials say accumulations of trash like this could be a cause of an outbreak of the bacterial disease typhus.
LA's mayor is now in apology mode."

NBC NEWS, LA Ignores Piles of Trash and Rats That Could Be Causing Typhus Outbreak, "It's disgusting and it's unacceptable," LA Mayor Eric Garcetti told NBC4., By Joel Grover and Amy Corral, Oct 9, 2018 at 8:31 PM | Updated at 9:48 AM PDT on Oct 10, 2018.

In fact, there is a spreading typhus epidemic in parts of LA County. LA's DP pols are addressing this failure of government by fumigating City Hall.

A little bit after writing this I realized that most people wouldn't know the "I voted for Nader" joke.

He had a lot of projected support, it was constantly in the news, will he or wont he etc. but his supporter either forgot to go to the polls or just didn't go so in hindsight voting for him became sort of ridiculous. After that it became kind of a joke used in situations like: a married couple are fighting over the proper way to stack dishes in the sink and try to get you involved. You say I voted for Nader and walk off into the sunset finally a winner.

Schultz should make for a fantastic 'Naderesque' candidate & watching the Dems squirm in their futility of thought (trying to come up with an inspiring, + message) doesn't disappoint either.

San Diego's Mayor Kevin Faulconer seems to be referring to President Trump's threat of closing down the border if America doesn't get its wall.

He acknowledges that the San Diego wall has made San Diego one of the safest big city in America.

Maybe that's because of the San Diego wall or it could be because San Diego is run by Republicans (?)

    Likely both.

The title of the article is...
'Secure and Open Border ... a Story of Success,' Says San Diego Mayor

Which is it ? The Mayor is playing politics.

32 reported cases as of yesterday. That's one heck of an epidemic.
And how exactly is this a failure of government? Did they hire the wrong cleaning crew?

Is the MSM just making the typhus epidemic in LA up?

"Armies of rats running through the streets of downtown Los Angeles are the suspected cause of a Typhus outbreak hitting the city."
