Actually they provide a service for the audience and audiences do not want creativity or art, and they serve the audience that spends the most money.

 

Ellen DeGeneris was making a joke. She was smiling when she said it, and the audience took it for a joke.

Not so Limpballs, who was bellowing into his microphone, spraying spittle everywhere, and waving his arms around.

DeGeneris' audience laughed. Limbaugh's audience takes it seriously and defends his remarks.
