In every single model a flat tax has the rich pay less and the poor pay more.

    Every single one.

That is why the rich love a flat tax idea

Yes, it is laughable that you BELIEVE that flat taxes increase what the wealthy are paying in taxes.

Well, let me put it to you this way:

I don't give a crap about politically motivated "models" pushed by people with an agenda.

I do have friendships and personal interactions with people whose profession is taxation and revenue, and they all chuckle at the naivete of those who speak as you do regarding a flat tax and "the rich pay less and poor pay more." Clearly, you have not actually read into the tax code to see the astonishing array of loopholes and hedges built into the small print that enable the very people who demand the rich pay more to avoid paying even their fair share.

The current tax code is so immense and overwritten even tax attorneys can't decipher all the ins and outs of it, and this is by design.

And for the record: I am not a rich man and don't ever expect to be.

I have more than enough knowledge of Math to know that a Flat Tax is a criminal boondoggle that will make you and I pay more than the pittance the wealthy are currently getting away with.

The only reason the wealthy are not currently promoting their criminal Flat Tax boondoggle is because the Republican/Libertarian fiscal malfeasance has effectively given them a flat tax of 20% already and that is why you and I are on the hook for the $22+ trillion that they have already scammed off taxpayers like ourselves.

Only a fool can not see why the rich all love the idea of a flat tax. They come out ahead in every circumstance.

I am a rich man. A flat tax would dramatically cut my taxes

Such a pittance. The top 1 percent of taxpayers accounted for more income taxes paid than the bottom 90 percent combined.

The professional police model for law enforcement has obviously failed. It is time to move on. Volunteer deputies under an elected sheriff are a good cost effective alternative.

As usual your facile grasp of the subject matter never fails to become obvious in the content of your posts.

I don't suppose that it's occurred to anyone that the reason there wasn't any money was because liberal energy policy is forcing energy companies to shift their generation plants away from coal and it's killing the funding for rural law enforcement in KY. This isn't a tax problem. It's an energy usage issue. Perhaps if KY substituted the coal supplement with a smug tax, all the liberals in KY can pay for the arrogance of their national membership....

I suppose that black men are less likely to be shot.

I love how all those "woke" liberals never want to talk about the loopholes they themselves have created in the tax code that protect the uber rich from substantive taxation.

Romney paid 14% on an income of almost $22 million so yes, that qualifies as a pittance for those of us who understand both Math and taxes.

I know a person who has a major market talk show and like clockwork whenever the subject of the segment would be taxes, a guy who would call in and just go on a rant about how the "rich" in the U.S. never paid their fair share of taxes, and because of that he was living hand to mouth, after awhile since all the guy seemed to be doing was reading talking points, he never made it past the call screener anymore but like a true troll kept on trying.

Well on the same station a Saturday host talked about finances and tax strategies and he would get a regular who would go on about the many strategies he used to avoid paying taxes and just how filthy rich he is, however most of strategies he described where not legal under IRS rules and that was noted over the air by the host.

One Saturday a fill in call screener, who normally worked weekdays, recognized the guys voice as the same person who would call during the week and rant about how the rich never paid their fair share, just for fun he pulled a recorded copy of the call from logger and after the call ended on the air, the screener chatted with the guy to see if he could help the screener with his taxes, the guy not knowing he was being set up verified his name, but declined to help the screener with his taxes.

Based on the information he provided combined with the caller ID number, the screener was able to get what he believed was the guys home address, which just happened to be in a public subsidized retirement condo, in other words he was not exactly living next door to Rush Limbaugh and it was discovered when I looked into his background and visited him under false pretenses, he was actually living on some very limited government subsidies.

Guess what happened when he called the weekly program and once again wanted to rant about the "rich?"

He made I past the screener, the board op cued up the recoded copy from the logger and just as the guy began his rant he was interrupted and his Saturday call was played for all to hear, it was quite clear it was the same person on the phone was the same person on the recording claiming to be filthy rich and how he used all types of shady loopholes to avoid paying taxes, he hung up before being questioned about the call, but that didn't stop the host from pointing out it was known where he lived and he had been personally interviewed a few weeks earlier to confirm that and his on-the-air lies about being filthy rich.

I don't think he has ever called either show back since and probably to this day wondering why he invited a total stranger with a home made Kinko ID card into his apartment to discuss personal finances.

Again, that's why I'm an independent.

Republicans and Democrats are flip sides of the same corrupt coin. They say what their partisan rubes want to hear and pound the bully pulpit in public for agendas they actively undermine behind closed doors.

Politicians want power. Period. And they'll tell gullible people whatever they want to hear so they can hang onto it.

That's because many liberals are ultra wealthy Democrats and support the party that enslaves the middle and lower class's of our society.
