Sounds like we saw different reports. I don't have the patience to rehash stuff from months ago, so we'll have to have to agree to disagree.
Demostrate this to be true Given that the federal LEOs were there to enforce federal law and protect federal property, what were those people doing?
No, I'm just not that gullible to believe clearly demonstrated lies. You are just repeating what the TV told you.
The violence even escalated once they left including the first politically motivated assassination on US soil since JFK and the first assault since Reagan.
It's hard to find a timeline with protester numbers, but this is an infographic from the Portland police about incidences of violence. You can see things pretty much died down after July 4th. Then Trump sent federal officers in on the 10th. They enforced federal law and protected federal property by putting people into unmarked vans? I don't know what the people were doing, but I've seen too many reports of police escalating peaceful situations to believe that there was anything other than a low-key protest going on.
I literally read the exact opposite from national and local news outlets: https://www.washingtonpost.com/nation/2020/07/31/portland-protests-federal-calm/ https://www.forbes.com/sites/jemima...ter-feds-exit-portland-protests/#7497c20be8bc https://katu.com/news/local/protesters-seeing-change-on-portland-streets-after-feds-leave https://www.kgw.com/article/news/lo...ests/283-19c8fc98-5be1-479e-a9f3-07eb76000450
July 8: Riot https://www.google.com/search?client=firefox-b-1-d&q=portland+riot+july+8 July 14 - Riot https://www.oregonlive.com/portland...r-outside-police-union-in-north-portland.html Overview:https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/George_Floyd_protests_in_Portland,_Oregon#July TLDR: There is no rational basis for any claim the rioting had does down by the time Federal LEOs deployed to the area, or that the rioting at the time was directly related to their presence. When people are arrested , they have to be transported somehow. The FBI, ATF, etc, do not have marked squad cars so... why NOT unmarked vans? Why do you think the fact the vans were unmarked lends any credibility to the complaints about federal LEOs enforcing federal law? Apparently, as federal law enforcement is under the same operational/arrest protocols as everyone else, they were doing something that warranted them being arrested for violation of federal law - do you have a concrete reason to believe otherwise? And so, why do you take issue with them being arrested and taken away in "unmarked vans"? Further, why do you forgive the violence this supposedly brought? Law enforcement should not enforce the law during a riot because rioters might riot?
That "july 8 riot" search turns up August 8th riots for me. Maybe try direct links. The July 14th riot is after Trump sent federal officers in. They should be marking their vehicles so it's clear who is doing what. Transparency is how you maintain credibility. Nope, I've seen too many examples of police escalating peaceful situations. The government has earned this lack of credibility. They don't get the benefit of the doubt any more. I don't "forgive the violence." It's that I don't automatically believe that violence occurred without provocation, or that what is being declared as violence actually is so.
Arrest records are public - anyone who wants to know can find out. If this is all you the offense you can offer, I accept your concession. You avoided my questions.
Your questions are predicated on the credibility of federal government and police. I reject the premise of your questions. You dropped the bit about riots dying down prior to Trump sending in officers, so I'll accept your concession on that point I guess.
It doesn't matter how you justify avoiding my questions - the fact remains, you chose to avoid them. Your concession, accepted.
That's a bit of a false narrative. It insinuates conservatives do not have a problem with bad cops. Both sides condemned the treatment of George Floyd. Its only the left that is dehumanizing law enforcement, defaming them and creating the hate that encourages violence against them. Then when violence happens against cops the left doesn't care. They don't march and protest, the don't put their names on NFL uniforms.
Nice spin! More like "terrorists harass man outside his OWN HOME because of his political affiliation" The way you guys downplay this is absolutely disgusting. Liberal silence is violence!
He was targeted and harassed for his beliefs. Take your lefty lenses off for a moment and reverse the races.
I re-watched the post and it became clear that what happened was there was a Block Party and this guy, being a Trumper *******, was not invited. So he pulled a gun. The party called the cops and they came and then they found out this guy was a bail jumper and so arrested him. What's next, are you going to defend some guy because he's beating his wife and then answers the door in his MAGA hat?
Bail jumping. He was subject to arrest at any time. This is when he was caught. Fugitives from the law should keep their heads down if they don't want to wind up in handcuffs...
1st Amendment, and the fact that no one except the drunk fugitive with a gun was arrested or even ticketed.
Most absurd post I've seen on here in quite some time. One political party using the actions of another political party against them.....just like every election in world history. You're acting like what's happening is unique when it's what happens every single election in every single country. If you want to cry about burning cities, tell leftists to stop burning them. I find it fascinating that the left can criticize the right for pointing out that the left is destroying cities, but won't criticize the people (leftists) who are actually destroying the cities. You can't make this stuff up.
