Nobody said it is Trump's fault. However, he did actively try to hurt red states, like NY for example. First in his tax package. Next, in his and the GOP Senate's unwillingness to bail out states. He even went so far that he would consider depriving NYS of vaccine shipments, because the governor said something mean about him. It is no wonder that he is not welcome back to NY City, and that he had to slink away to hide at Mar a Lago, where apparently the local residents also don't like him around.

I think you're wrong. Even your hero ex-President Trump thought so. Now that he's gone, Congressional Republicans have gone back to their stingy ways of making the rich richer and the poor poorer.

Biden's plan will be full of pork and Congress is controlled by the Democrats so it will be easy to get passed.

You all act like this is some big accomplishment and it's not.

If Trump had the house and Senate he would have got alot more passed.

He had the House and the Senate in his first two years, with bigger majorities than what the Dems have now. Of course, tax cuts for the corporations were more important than anything else back then. And that's what they did.

He did for almost two years and not only did they get very little passed there were the most government shutdowns than in any other comparable time span.

2/3 of the $ is not going to the people. If they gave it all to the people, each man, woman, and child in the U.S.A. would receive over $5,000 each. This is a giant Democratic Party Oligarch payoff and you guys are cheering it on. California, New York, and other Democratic Party run states are getting the 2/3 of the money, the people are getting the scraps.

I've asked this question before: Do you think money to the states and local governments is not going to the people? Are state employees not people? Are only private business employees people?

And the R's lost the Senate because they did nothing last time.
I take it you are now a Biden and Dem supporter. For now trump is getting his plan passed thanks to Biden and Dems.

4 yrs ago, he had the house and senate. And failed on everything except a tax cut.

Then in 2 yrs, he lost the house. In 4 yrs, he lost the WH and the Senate. That is some type of failure right there.

Have you supplied a link to any claims you've made in the thread?

Prove 2/3rds of the money is going to Dem states only. I think that is complete BS, but I'll give you the benefit of the doubt and awaite your proof of said claim.

If democrats wanted wages to rise they would stop importing cheap labor and stop exporting jobs.

McConnell was an asset for Democrats when his repeated stand against $2000 individual stimulus payments [that Trump supported] helped Democrats win the White House and the Georgia run-off Senate elections.

Dems want to export jobs? What is the evidence?

It is actually the corporations that export jobs, to save on labor costs. The same corporations that Trump gave a huge tax cut, so they can buy back stocks instead of hiring more domestic workers. You are barking up the wrong tree.

Market forces cause jobs to export, that is the natural cycle of for profit multinational corporations — they are not beholden to any nation but rather profits. We could try another disastrous trade war and funnel billions to impacted industry while getting questionable results... but we already tried that.

I agree with you on the low skilled immigration, but that isn’t a Democratic issue as Republicans never really address it when they have power either.

Totally agree that the Republicans also love to import cheap labor. I never thought Trump was serious about building a wall and of course Republican leadership never really wanted a wall.

So do you support abolishing state government & just giving whatever money would have gone to state government, to the people, instead? Would you then expect all the things that state governments do, from maintaining roads to, say, distributing vaccines during an epidemic, to be handled by the collective citizenry, through their individual efforts?

It was my understanding that a good chunk of that money is earmarked for preparing schools so that it will be safe for children to return to them, through renovations, retro-fits, and whatever else; this is a necessary step-- in lieu of creating a national child care system with massive capacity-- to make it possible for adults with kids too young to be left on their own all day, to be able to rejoin the workforce. You do want to get the economy back up to speed, I assume? How would giving ALL the money to individual citizens, accomplish this (by their using it to hire professional child-care/babysitters, who'll work for cheap)?

While I agree that it might do the kids some good to leave them in the care of wolf-packs, this solution really only works for parts of the west & upper midwest.

The initial evidence to me was NAFTA. Perot said there would be a sucking sound of jobs leaving the country and he was correct. Obama was going to build on the "success" of NAFTA with the TPP which fortunately for the US Trump killed. Remember Obama stating "those jobs aren't coming back."

Don't look for Beijing Biden to bring back jobs from China.

Yes, Pelosi loaded it with tons of Democratic Party pay offs and seizure of Federal Elections. No one in their right mind would have agreed.

No. It will end up in the pockets of the Democratic Party Oligarchs, just like the High Speed Rail Money and nearly everything else that comes from the Fed to California, NY, etc...
