Amounts were converted for ease of comparison, I guess the dollar sign maybe threw you off? It is difficult for some I guess...

You want to compare prices? Ok fun! @Starcastle feel free to join in

Do healthcare (remember to include in Americas numbers: employer contributions, co-payments, co-insurance, federal subsidies, monthly premium, federal contributions, deductibles, and cost of the uninsured)

Next lets do cost of 1G internet service, lets also compare the average work week with vacation, holiday, sick, medical, retirement and parental leave added in (paid days only)

You can even leave it in the denomination or those local communities if it makes you feel better o_O

I have no problem raising the minimum to $10 an hour with provisions to eventually work up to $15 in 5-6 years. Most people in the country make that anyway.

Note that in a city with a $15 minimum rioters ran amok and took over a section of town. Why are minorities there so upset?

Now you're running off on a tangent, I simply asked what a Gallon of gas cost their.. But hey, if they were all that GREAT, you, and MILLIONS of others would be relocated and so busy living the life of riley you all have no time to complain about Merika..

Strange how we house 10 of million of those folks here and millions waiting to get in, but the folks living here think they have it better..

    WOW!

I actually support some type of universal health care. Probably modeled after the Singapore system. The Heritage foundation lists 16 countries they believe have freer economies. Almost all of those 16 have universal health care.

Peace of mind and not having to worry about financial ruin matters. Our current system is far too costly.

That is what the proposal is...

Well 1) most of the rioters were not from the local communities and 2) I believe those protests were over racial issues not minimum wage

So Seattle a city run lock stock and barrel by democrats is racist? I can go with that.

Seriously racial issues are not apart from economic issues. Seattle is only 8% black and had full employment and a $15 minimum wage. Should be paradise so why all the bums and addicts and people trashing the city?

Gas is cheaper in many nations due to subsidies or state ownership (look at many Muslim nations). Wanting to improve your nation is patriotic, telling others to leave because they have legitimate issues is not.

Also, their is possessive, the word you are looking for is there, which indicates a place.

Zero of the nations I listed are major contributors to our immigration, either legal or illegal. Virtually all of them have a higher standard of living than Americans do — many of us have just never been out of our own state much less the nation for an accurate comparison.

I believe that is one of the major reasons why younger generations are so much more progressive than their elderly counterparts because we have immediate access to these differences via the internet. I am sorry that boomers have been lied to their whole lives, even more sad that they actually believe it. But they will go away and progress will come.

I never said anyone was racist, I said racial issues, often caused by interactions with the police. But yes, Democrats can be racist, as can the police, as can black people, as can anyone

    Population density and housing shortages
Seen virtually all over the US

why are all these minimum wage debates always $15 or nothing? If it really is currently 7.25 than 15 is more than double. Can't they just settle on 10 for now and see how that goes?

All I asked was how much those countries you posted pay for fuel.. It wasn't that hard a question and clearly doesn't need all this redirecting nonsense..

    Completely irrelevant
Did you forget how to do basic research, oh wait — never mind. I forgot who I was talking to for a minute

Talk about deflection. You seriously believe fuel prices address the OP in any way? No...

That was completely BS. There were no payoffs. The Senate failed. And paid for it at the elections.

Those jobs are not coming back.
    Why would they?
Mfg jobs are often low skill labor. The only reason those mfg jobs were high paying was due to labor unions.
And there's many countries that still have low labor rates. For the jobs to come back to USA they'd have to be about $2/hr.

And in 2019, UE was 3.5%. That is basically full employment. So there were jobs a plenty. None were being exported.

Trump was running the show in 2019. Let revisit unemployment in a year or two.

I see the political parties are still fighting over who will get to continue to drive the US economy into the ditch. Doesn't matter who is in power we will end up in the same ditch.

What in the legislation is a "hardcore Leftist agenda?" And why did you capitalize "leftist" when there is no organization or party called "Leftist?"
Why haven't you (you did say "we") propose a specific alternative so we know what you intend for the country?

It's the fault of the economy taking a hit and states experiencing declining revenues and having increased costs. The Orange Dodo is playing golf, so how about dealing with the problem?

No but it was Trump who bioengineered the virus at Mira Lago one day just to kill black people right? The Chinese had nothing to do with it and would never lie about anything including the 4 million people in slavery or their Covid death statistics.

Quite shocking really that our economy is not in much worse shape considering the ravages of the virus and the excessive Stalinistic shut downs in some states. Unemployment was under 7% in the month of December and stocks which went on a month long free fall in Feb and March ended up nicely for the year. The Vanguard total stock market index was up 20% for 2020!

That shows how strong our economy was pre Covid and how strong it remained despite monumental efforts to tank it for Biden's sake.

Does not stop democrats from the typical "worst economy since the great depression" line. Howard Dean used that in 2004 when unemployment was 5%.

Gee. I'm lookin, but not seeing it.
    $1400 stimulus checks
    Unemployment supplement.
    Rental assistance and eviction moratorium
    More money for food stamps
    Aid for child care providers.

I don't know much about this one.
A temporarily increase of tax credits
Biden wants to boost the Child Tax Credit to $3,600 for children under age 6 and $3,000 for those between ages 6 and 17 for a year. The credit would also be made fully refundable.
And he proposes to raise the maximum Earned Income Tax Credit for a year to close to $1,500 for childless adults, increase the income limit for the credit to about $21,000 and expand the age range of eligibility to cover older workers.
Both of these are aimed at supporting low-income families, including millions of essential workers.

Subsidize healthcare for those that have lost jobs.
Restore emergency paid family sick leave

Another I don't know much about.
    More assistance for small businesses
The plan calls for providing $15 billion to create a new grant program for small business owners, separate from the existing Paycheck Protection Program.
It also proposes making a $35 billion investment in some state, local, tribal, and non-profit financing programs that make low-interest loans and provide venture capital to entrepreneurs.

    Aid for states and schools
Biden wants to send $350 billion to state, local and territorial governments to keep their frontline workers employed, distribute the vaccine, increase testing, reopen schools and maintain vital services.

Increased support for vaccines and testing:
    A $15 hourly minimum wage:

    So did I miss something?
What do you want to eliminate that would save money.

What does any of your caterwauling about Trump have to do we state revenues dropping as the economy struggled?

The only thing you missed is that, counter to what some delusional posters have been insisting, Democrats in the Senate worked with Republicans on amendments. As a result a number of Republican amendments have been adopted:

    https://www.nytimes.com/2021/02/04/...action=click&module=Spotlight&pgtype=Homepage

They didn't have to adopt all of those amendments, but they did. Not sure if a better example of 'bipartisanship' exists. Wonder how the GOP did things when they were in control of the Senate?

Oh, and the $15 minimum wage didn't get up.

Fair to say some of the conservative contributors to this forum have opnce again shown that their opinions are all about ideology and not much about facts.
