"hat the ancient Egyptians were Mediterranid Caucasoids - as are the majority of modern Egyptians" I never pretended that egyptian were black, but they were dark skinned (with the diversity who exist in every country), like a lot of nowodays egyptian. People in north africa, Iran, Afghanistan, Pakistan are for some of them really white. This is a Pakistani girl ! However all those countries are really poor, the problem is not the race, but the culture. Indians, black people, arabic peoples have way of thinking who prevent their developpement, not their race. When the Japan decided to open themselves to the rest of the world in 1880, they were at a middle age level, 30 years later, they were one of the most modern countries in the world. Why ? Because Japan have a culture who favorize economical and scientific developpement.
Uhm swift let us guess you are a college educated atheist ... News flash we have been in the 21st century for the past 17 years .. . .
You seem to be cashing in on that concept, i.e. making yourself out to be more clever and mysterious as God's "mythical" adversary, diablo. Maybe none of this is your fault (I hope). Because it seems painfully evident to me God must have truly blinded people who think they are wise. Really strange.
What a strange comment. I'm not mysterious, for sure. Not my fault?!? What does that mean? Why would god - if it exists - blind someone for using his intellect? I thought christians, if you are one, believe in free will....
My apologies for taking such liberties. But I guess when someone confidently, yet cavalierly, dismisses God as some myth it provokes me. I am not saying God totally blinds a soul from recognizing His reality, I am saying it appears to be the case. Because for me and untold millions others, the evidence is so obvious and compelling it is not a matter of faith. It is certain. Plus your choosing the name ‘diablo’ and make that comment on God, I was piqued why one might choose such a posting title. “Not my fault” means just that. I do not know where you came from, how you were nurtured or influenced by others --- all of that has a lot to do with formulating our consciences and making choices. Not hard to conceptualize that. So if one was born a primitive native isolated from the world, or into devout Islam family, or into an abusive alcoholic family, --- all those could render the individual innocent of his ways. None of us know nearly enough about anyone or any of that to be their judge. God made that clear.
If you really put effort into studying the history of technology (fascinating subject BTW) you will find that very rarely (basically never) does technology take a giant leap. Instead we have a lot of tech that is harnassable for generations without being turned into a new use. Gunpowder is a perfect example, Phillip and Alexander of Macedon were pretty darn closet to gunpowder with Greek Fire. Can you imagine if they were the first to put it to use before the Chinese against the Mongols/Yuan?
And then someone posts back the worst of the worse black people or the worst of the worst Mexican people and they are screened down for being racist. You doing this yet being hypocritical to the so called white nationalists you hate so much, is exactly why Trump is president. The people who voted for him are not racist as a majority, not even close. But they are as a majority, completely sick and tired with bigoted comments like yours. Come on man, what is wrong with you, grow up
and writing which enabled accurate contemporary information transcending generations. The medium is the message.
I thought a lot about whether to include that. I continue to believe that religion/ afterlife/ God served a vital evolutionary purpose convincing our ancestors to accept lethal risks and sacrifice for something or someone other than family and offspring. I actually think religion was the first practical uses we had, for those parts of the brain we developed, that could comprehend and retain abstract ideas that we could not visualize. I do not believe we died for our kings, or our leaders because we were loyal or feared them when group dynamics and population grew unwieldy. We did it because God could reward and punish, when they could not. The earliest religious artifacts/ art predate most of the advances in I mentioned above thread. I do not think that is happenstance.
Unless there is intelligent life out there the gesture is meaningless. And if there is intelligent life out there they will probably wipe us out to prevent us from infecting the rest of the universe.
Not really. Haven't you heard about "end times"? Other than that, you are right - I have a college education.
84% of those who voted for Trump look exactly like one of the examples of white people depicted in those photos...Look it up...lol
The fact some communists or nazis who were athees (even if a lot of nazis were christian) fight to death for an idea show that you don't need afterlife to risk your life.
I did not say that we still need God for that purpose, just that we did for enough centuries for mature political and economic institutions to grow their policing power. I do not see the growth of Sumer, Ur, Uruk, Babylon, or thebes, tyre, Sidon, Garamantes, Maya, Athens, Sparta, Thebes, and Corinth, those in Mesoamerica, Phoenicia, Swahila, etc without some Gods to manipulate.
Lapsus ? I think a lot of athees are ready to die for a cause. I don't think it's mandatory the idea of afterlife who easy the fact to sacrifice your own life, but the idea to sacrifice for a greater good.
Yup I guessed right, you didn't even have a clue we have been in the 21st century for the past 17 years.. .
