No, Cleaver restrained his political ambitions to state-wide levels, and didn't get anywhere even then. And he was far worse than Sharpton, who has only incited murder but not committed it himself. But you will note that some Republicans were conned by this traditional hustler -- who, to give him credit, was far more intelligent than Sharpton. What's really interesting about him was that he was an admitted serial rapist -- and I mean real, forcible, stranger-rape. Of course he later said 'sorry', His record didn't keep our Leftwing moralizers from nominating him as the Presidential candidate of the Peace and Freedom Party [ a rough equivalent to AOC's Democratic Socialists of America] in 1968.

 

At this point, AOC is a national figure and will be involved in the conversation even if she loses her seat. This young lady is going places and she represents the new generation of leaders on the left. If you talk to young people in their 20s and 30s, you will see that most of them share her value systems and concerns. I admire her guts and ability to articulate a position.

It wouldn't matter if A.O.C. did have a challenger from her own party. Most Dem Party voters go strictly by name recognition; and everyone in the world KNOWS A.O.C. at this point. The fact that she is both stupid and has got a revolting ideology notwithstanding the name recognition factor. Just like with Nancy Pelosi and Maxine Waters and the insanely stupid Sheila Jackson Lee, name recognition among Dem Party voters is ALL that actually matters. A.O.C. is guaranteed to be handily re-elected no matter what the polls are showing and nor who runs against her from which party.

That's good news. So great to see patriots in office so as to stifle the anti America agenda of the far right.

 

I said the very same thing when she appeared. Only when I pointed out that she represented the future of the Dem Party our leftists resented the truth. Go figure.

 

She's the boss.

 

Celebrity is less important in a House race. She is is a Hispanic woman in a district with a 50% Hispanic electorate. She'll have to make some serious political mistakes before someone can challenge her. Maybe her district will disapear.

Her constituency is no doubt less concerned about ideology than in fighting discrimination against them. You can thank racism, against them and their own, for their focus.

 

If shooing away all those Amazon jobs wasn't a "serious political mistake", then there is no such thing.

If her constituency doesn't understand how hard she screwed them with that debacle, then they deserve exactly what they get.

 

Amazon quit the place. Ocasio-Cortez has no clout in NY or NYC. That said, I think that was a total BS move on her part. I suppose her Amazon stunt hurt her, but I doubt it's fatal.

She didn't screw them--Amazon used her as an excuse to walk away--but she would screw them if any government was dumb enough to adopt her economic policies.
