Memo to the South: Go Ahead, Secede Already!

Collectivists arent in the business of people having self determination, they dont let states/ countries go they want more of them! They care not for borders when a global govt would be ideal for them, where their failed socialist ideology could be forced on people with no place to escape it.

Because -those- are the types of things that the "X state giver Y state taker" bigots include in THEIR BOGUS ACCOUNTING as "federal benefits."

Not going to bother debunking the "giving" side as have done so many times before here. Suffice it to say it has more to do with 1.income earning in large cities and then migration to the Sunbelt during retirement... by the exact same people; and 2. interstate revenues of large companies inaccurately accounted wholly at the tax situs than any contextual, reasonable accounting of federal revenue.

Why does the left repeat this absurd bigotry over and over? Are they -that- insecure and hateful? Or purposefully lying towards political effect among the low information mob?

So the argument of the article, and by extension your argument, is that you're a bigot towards the south, you hate the people so...they should leave.

It seems to me that the real problem is that leftists such as yourself don't want to live under the US Constitution or it's system of Federalism. You guys seem to want a unitary, probably parliamentary state.
So if you don't want to live under the US Constitution, doesn't it make more sense that you guys leave? I'm just saying, I want to live under the US constitution. You don't. Why should I leave?

All true, and besides which when you stop to consider the huge numbers of Yankees who have moved from north to south over the decades in search of opportunities that they can no longer find in leftwing oppressive Yankee land it appears that a good portion of the North has effectively . . . become southerners. We need to return to the articles of confederation or something similar. The "union" is a farce and it's holding people back.

 

People are sorting already. There has been a mass migration to the south for over 50 years. I'm sure if the blue states decide to secede to form their own country ruled by the hosts of MSNBC and the New York Times editorial board, it would cause even more people to think seriously about what they want and move.

 

Yes, and because conservationism is far more likely to produce a growth economy than is liberalism. Don't get me wrong, liberalism is great for many things, but it's always a mistake to allow liberals to get their grubby little paws on a town's, city's, state's, or nation's economic mechanisms. With the best of intentions they almost always make the cost of everything much higher while making it much more difficult to find advantageous jobs.

The last thing northerners need are dead beat welfare using conservatives from red state crap holes like Kentucky coming over and mooching off the hard working northerners.

Truth be told though, it would be funny to see the conservatives in the south secede, and watch their right wing Aryan utopia turn into a third world hell hole resembling a Mad Max movie in about a week because of their failed policies and overall ineptness. But I don't think the non conservatives in the south want that to happen.

I actually thing Old Abe was dead on wrong to preserve the union. The Emancipation was spot on, but that's about it.

The red states pay less in Federal taxes and get the lion's share. The blue states would like to keep some of those revenues for science and green energy initiatives...you know...inconsequential stuff like that.

That is the point. Who wants policies foisted upon them if it goes against their beliefs. The red and blues states are not compatable. Didn't you read the OP? I made it clear. Life is stressful enough, so who needs policies being set by represenatives that might as well be from another planet or another century. I don't want a radical fool influencing issues and inhibiting progress. It's stupid to have elections that offer candidates that are dreaded by the other side. If I am in a class that is filled with students that are light years behind my intellect, I am going to switch classes. If I am in a neighborhood that does not accommodate my needs, I am going to move. If I am in a relationship that offers no growth, I am going call it quits. Why should any group of like-minded individuals be forced to suffer the consequences of decisions made by people they have zero in common with. IMO....it's no brainer
