I don't care if they eat each other alive as long as I don't have to be subject to the self-serving whims and ideologies of represenatives that are either morons or on the take or both.

This statement always intrigues me. Tax Foundation data for 1981 -2005 shows Texas as a net "giver" to the federal coffers. More recent data is a little cloudy. Do you have a current source for your statement? One that compiles 2006 - current? It would not surprise me if Texas has gone 'in the red' in certain years but I'd like to see the data.

Considering how large the federal deficit is, I would suspect that most states are taking in more than they give.

Oh, right. Like the slaves that get food, housing, and now medical from their slavemaster government, only they call it socialism.

You mean like Senator Hagan's family?

    http://courier-tribune.com/opinion/hagan-stimulus-disclosure-reveals-conflict-interest

No open market for these contracts. But, hey! They'll give the peasants scraps from the table of the self-righteous overlords.
The Nawth can have Hagan. She'd fit right in there. We don't need her here.

True patriots, on the bright side.....if the slave states were to secede you could skip that whole voter ID thing and just go straight back to only property owning white males being able to vote.

Where did you get that illusion that a low tax rate gives you a strong army? By cutting into public infrastructures, maybe?

More likely, here what it will look like:

The Confederation will first draw in those rich individuals and corporations that would want to escape the Union's higher taxations and regulations (but maybe not enough since there are poorer, loosier countries still just next door). With the tax break given to the already rich, public culture, infrastuctures (bridges, public works etc) and health care will be neglected, which will produce a large bassin of cheap labour masses surrouding some rich, finely manicured and ridiculously protected enclave here and there. A modern, more acceptable adaptation of the Old South's "particularity".

For its part the Union will become Canada.

    What's wrong with this picture?

Hey, the picture looks pretty good to me but then again I'd be livin' in the 'Canada' part not Dystopia South.

    Incompatible
-not compatible; unable to exist together in harmony
-things or people that are too different to get along
-things or people that cannot coexist well or that do not go well together. Two opposing ideas

You do realize that red states are predominantly Conservatives, while blue states are predominantly Liberal/Progressive...right?

Have you been paying an attention to Congress these past 6 years?

Interesting claim of incompatibility in light of the indisputable trend of tens of millions of people moving into red states from blue, specifically NE to sunbelt, for decades, living happy lives and being accepted by us indigenous natives... other than on the beaches where their banana hammocks and loud, garish behavior mark them as yankees. Everywhere else we get along just fine.

The two are able to exist together in harmony. Why? Well, we have for over a century.

You may not prefer coexistence, but it is certainly possible for reds and blue to coexist together in harmony.

if that is your idea of what being a slave was like, I think you need to do a little more research

:roflol:, and yet you yourself refer to the working class as slaves.

Are you gonna answer for the claim that Texas takes more than it returns?

I say let Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabam, Florida, all secede.

but, they have to take all of the rest of America's Conservatives with them.

Most of them never get past the "RED STATE WELFARE" headlines.
