They announced Bill Russell had died and were talking about all of his civil rights work? WTF??? I never knew that. Then I realized they didn't mean MY Bill Russell LOL!. Long ago I had a bat signed by Russell. I was never a big basketball fan.
Look what just popped up in my alerts. I always tell myself that he has sunk as low as humanly possible and then he goes deeper. ;-0
Vin Scully, the voice of Dodgers baseball games for 67 summers in Brooklyn and then Los Angeles, has died at 94. I just heard that! Now that does make me a little sad. I grew up with Vin Scully. And I was a HUGE Dodger fan. He goes waaaaaay back and was certainly a legend. 67 seasons!!! Wow!
I can remember listening to Vin Scully going back to about age 5. There was an old man and his wife [old from my perspective] living across the street. I would often go over and sit with him in his kitchen and listen to Vin Scully call the Dodger game on his old AM radio. It is hard to imagine that he goes back before my time and even to the time before the legendary Dodger, Sandy Koufax. His first Dodger broadcast was in 1950. This was a tribute to Scully the Dodgers held last night at the game.
