That was my point. He extended Himself to make it understandable to us. He created us with great intent because He wanted a mutual relationship that was not influenced by His own will. It is beyond our comprehension in this temporal world. When we enter the next "dimension" we will discover things that our thousands of years of scientific study did not even scratch the surface! It will be humbling!

 

You are correct....the trinity is a precept alluded to through out scripture. It is a tough concept to completely grasp with our finite minds. Deeper though has brought scholars to in effect label the concept to be used for deeper discussion. One might look at the sun and discuss it's deeper aspects. The Sun is a physical existence with a couple more properties. It gives off illuminating light. It also gives off it's warmth and energy. God is the head and Creator of all things. Jesus is His Representation to human kind. The Holy Spirit is the Power that emanates from Him and through Him in a variety of ways to accomplish His will while respecting the choices He gives us with our lives.

We in no way own our God. He is the God of ALL Creation. He paid a terrible price so ALL may know Him.

 

I will step back here and respect you want to use the term "Christian Atheist." Though I personally see it as an oxymoron, it has existed since the beginning. Kings have used the institution to exert their own will on subjects for thousands of years with little regard to the will of God as expressed in His Word. Actually that disregard did lead to the founding of the country we now live in.
Early Christians referred to themselves as "Followers of the Way". In fact, those of Muslim influence often use that term to this day. The term Christian was applied to these Believers by Greek observation which meant "little Christs".

 

You extol the virtue of knowledge and understanding. Yet you clearly do not know God or understand that life itself is a miracle. You say you love your child, but you cannot conceive that God loves his children, much less that his children should love him back because he first loved them. You say that God is a cruel sociopath, yet he gives you life and pours out his blessings to you continually throughout the course of your life, covering you in charity, delaying judgment for your numberless sins and trespasses, due simply to your intrinsic worth, and his gladness at enlarging your spirit thru the blessing of this life and the potential of your salvation. We are all the same to him in that regard. You say you praise your child when he does well. But is rebelliousness praiseworthy. If your child curses you and hates you and is willful, contrary and self serving, would you continue to love and bless him? So go you before God all the days of your life, soaking up his mercy. You praise science. But try violating the laws of science, either knowingly or unknowingly, and you are likely to be blown to smithereens and replaced. Science is merciless. But God stretches his arm out to you continually in spite of all the many laws you break in heart and deed. The earth turns, the sun breaches the horizon and stirs the thermals with its warmth. The birds sing the new day. Nature ushers in her season. You rise, steady of heart, and breathe. You eat and look about and say it is a good day..life is good. But who are you to sojourn in this masterpiece of creation and speak so highly of yourself? A hundred billion souls have come and gone over thousands of years, and all the while made mention of God. Who makes mention of you? Was your birth prophesied. What have you established in your blip in time. Everyone thinks they are so important...like spoiled children. You pose like an adult and say what you think an adult would say. In so doing you subtly mock your own act and then proceed to mock the hand that created you as if he did not. Yet here you are, unfurled by an unseen hand and described by science, as if descibing a flag should make, imbue, and endow that which already is. Ironically you state your beliefs and mock what I know. So I question your beliefs and state what I know. Turnabout is a fair and virtuous lady whom none can deny and remain in place.

 

Thank you for posting that SANCTIMONIOUS sermon because it definitely CONFIRMED that EVERYTHING that I posted was 100% accurate when it comes to CHILDREN believing in IMAGINARY deities as opposed to ADULTS who take RESPONSIBILITY for their own lives.

I fail to see how that even remotely addresses your claim. I understand that not everyone who claims to be a Christian is one but the verse you cited doesn’t address the subject of the Trinity in respect to being one.

 

It doesn't need to. The Jehovah's Witnesses think Jesus was not God, but Michael the Archangel. How can a "not God" pay for your sins?

Tell me, if Jesus was not God, how can he sacrifice himself for you? No man can (Ps. 49:7). Claiming that a fable saved you won't help.

 

How can a God that cannot die, die? And if He’s dead who will raise Him from the dead? And when He ascended up to heaven how could He sit on the right side of God if He is God?
