So America, in your mind, can never and has never done evil deeds?
    Never started an unprovoked war?
    Never overthrew other countries gov't?
Never ran covert operations in another country to achieve some desired outcome?
Never made terrorist threats, like we'll drop nuclear bombs on you if you do something we don't like? That is the ultimate terror threat.

I was their oil and their business what they did with it! There was no collusion with the USSR; that was US propaganda. You 'assisted' nothing but terror, torture and death at the hands of the CIA-trained SAVAK secret police. America, with British collusion, completely ****ed up Iran because you couldn't have what you wanted.

This is what you, America, did to Iran:

You, America, created your own enemy. Sheer genius.

Liberal iranian apologists have to dig back over 60 years to find a grievence against the US

And even that complaint is highly questionable since it was iranians deposing other iranians jist as it was when the mullahs forced the shah out in 1979

Most of the iranians who will die in a nucelar war with America were not even born then

There was collusion with the USSR and while the oil was under their land the British discovered the oil and developed the oil production

Maybe if the new radical regeme had been more tactful and less belligerent it would have reached a compromise with the british

So mistakes were made on both sides

More education needed, I see. Iranian pro-Shah activists and politicians were bribed by the CIA, to act against Mossadegh. Memories, by the way, are long. Grievances don't regard time as a limiting factor. America manages to **** up wherever you turn up, uninvited.

At least long enough that the iranians will always be our enemy

so there is no point in pandering to them the way obama did.

If iran is determined to build the bomb and use it to destroy its neighbors including Israel and Saudi Arabia then it must be destroyed by any means necessary

Well, first you have to establish that is the case, and Iran's intention. Perhaps listening to US-led propaganda against Iran, and Israel's constant whining that Iran wants to 'wipe Israel from the face of the Earth', without a shred of supporting evidence, isn't the best place to start. What do you think?

I have heard plenty of anti American bullshit from people like you to compare to the "propaganda" and I have made up my own mind

The iranian muslim revolutionary nutcases are my enemy and if they want war we have make sure our side wins.

This will mean a lot of death for a lot of iranians but hopefully not so much for the US and our friends

I am still angry about 1979 but that is not the issue today any more than the alleged mistreatment of iran in 1953

The currennt issue is dominance of the Gulf in 2017 and the balance of power between Iran and russia on one side and the US, Israel and the moderate non shia arab states on the other

So everyone who disagrees with you is closed minded?

You are really quite full of yourself as many liberals are

"Alleged mistreatment"? Are you insane? The CIA have released previously classified documents detailing Operation Ajax and admitting to everything I previously quoted.

You can't disagree with facts unless you are being deliberately stupid and obtuse.

    What "facts?"

A claim that when the iranians shout "death to America" the are just kidding and don't really mean it?

Don't assume that the rest of us are as gullible as you are

Aha, the strawman ploy, I see. No, these are the facts I'm referring to:

Scroll down, click on the links, learn something for once, and quit being an apologist for a stupid foreign policy which has blown up in your face. This gullibility is yours, Mac, for believing your government's anti-Iranian propaganda.

My main point wasn't about the brutality of the Shah, but the fact that his regime intrinsically lacked (or lost) whatever legitimacy it could claim once he was re-installed on his throne by a coup orchestrated by outside powers, namely the US and Britain. In a country like Iran, which has stubbornly clung to its heritage, national identity and tried to preserve its independence for centuries and several millennia of history, that is not something that will win a ruler who calls himself "Shahinshah Aryamehr" (King of Kings, Light of Aryans) any legitimacy. And when that ruler is trying to "modernize" the country (albeit superficially) by imposing an alien culture from top, and in the process pits himself against the traditional clergy whose approval is part of what gave a monarch its legitimacy in the history of post Safavid Iran (post 16th century), he will be left with even less legitimacy.
I agree that Shah was never senseless or insane and didn't do anything of the sort. I guess standing against the world's top superpower and believing you will have a chance to win the contest might suggest some insanity, but otherwise I don't see Iran's theocratic leaders as insane either.
A lot of things that appear "obvious" to you, don't appear obvious to me:)
Iranians chose to stand up to the US, and reject being ruled by anyone who might have been tainted (whether deservedly or not) as a US lackey. But they have never ever tried or assumed the position of being "mortal enemies of the United States". That is preposterous and, indeed, entirely baseless.

YOu want to talk about dangerous? How about a country that invades a sovereign nation under bogus pretenses and without being attacked and destabilizes and entire region leading to the deaths of 100s of thousands of people and perpetual war that can go on for a long time? Or how about country that props up dictators and supports overthrow of democratically elected governments like the US has done?

I think it is rather Israel and the Sauds who have designated Iran as an enemy of the US. Why would Iran hate a country that is half a globe away from them, unless that country actively sought it?

You continue to go back to 1953 as the excuse for iranian radicalism today but that ploy iis unconvincing

The mullahs running iran today are crazy and dangerous

None of your history changes that fact

    No

Iran can speak for itself and it has freely chosen to be America's enemy
