The simple fact, Mac, that if it weren't for Operation Ajax there would be no insane clerics. Instead Iran would be a thriving and secular democracy, as it was prior to your insanity. Despite America's continual cynical bleating about 'freedom and democracy', you managed to destroy both in Iran.

The past is past, of course. We can't re-load an earlier save, obviously. But what we can do, is recognize that it has been a mistake, and take it as a lesson in the future - both of which have not been done yet.

WTF do you expect from Iran, everlasting gratitude for screwing up their nation? No, you wanted an enemy, and you succeeded in your endeavours.

Under a crazy socialist - which your hero certainly was - or the mad mullahs iran was screwed.

Mossadeq was overthrown by the iranians with assisance from the US and Britian but that was a long time ago and had nothing to do with Iran's hostitilty toward Israel and Saudi Arabia today

Clinging to 1953 as your excuse for iran today is shortsighted

Under the shah iran had a chance to join the modern world

Mossadeq Was a wacko who hated the british and went out of his way to pick a fight with them

The shah appointed Mossadeq and then fired him which he had a right to do

No, what is shortsighted, Mac, is your obvious inability to join the dots from 1953 until today. Mossadegh was crazy? I think I'll need more than just your opinion.

Furthermore, if Iran is so anti-Israel, perhaps you can explain why Jews are explicitly protected from persecution under the Iranian constitution, why Iran has the highest population of Jews in the region outside of Israel, why there are flourishing Jewish schools and synagogues in Iran. Well?

That last one is quite deeper than you might have thought while writing it. Want me to hint at a few clues?

You should know more about the man you idolize before going off half cocked praising him

But as I asked, what role did Israel and Saudi Arabia play in the overthrow of mossadegh in 1953?

Iran may not (it doesn't) live up to western standards of democratic governance, but it is NOT a police state by any means. Anyone who tells you otherwise, has never set foot in this country and certainly has not done so since 1997.

You really have no clue, if you really believe the things you write. Except for Iranian Americans, who are caught in a bind in both Iran and the US as both countries have various laws and strictures that don't look kindly to associations with the other side (America's strictures are far more comprehensive), and who are sometimes caught in the cross-fire, anyone else from America or anywhere else who has visited Iran will tell you how off you are in your image of the country. Just google and find for yourself. If you want, I can help you with the exercise.
    P.S.
    I live in Iran.

We may deserve Iran's dislike of us. But to blame us for their state sponsored terrorism is a pretty big leap from that. Blaming a 3rd party for the actions of one nation is completely a logical fallacy. If the US is responsible for the actions of Iran, who is responsible for the actions of the US?

Who are these moderate non-shia states? Are you referring to the state that the US sold, in just one of many deals, $110B of military weapons to? The US wants and encourages constant wars in the Middle East which explains their help towards Daesh in Syria and explains their alliance with Saudi Arabia
