Well, LET'S DO THE MATH... Polls show clear majority in favor of the players kneeling. In fact, the only age group clearly against it was over 65. Now stay with me... 1. Sports can appeal to an aging, dying group, many of whom cannot afford the cost of tickets/gear or 2. Sports can appeal to a group growing in terms of both size and financial clout. I'm going to assume most of these guys are a lot smarter than Trump so I'm going with 2. Bye now.
Channel surfing came across nba portland toronto game... within the first minute there was a large blm pruntrd on the floor and the coach had a pin. Poof, nba is off the tv, done. Watching harry met Sally now. Take care nba.
LoL! You didn't hear? They changed their logo. ARE YOU READY FOR SOME VIRTUE SIGNALLING. We have it in commercials, we have it in comics, we have it in the MSM, we have it in our universities, we have it in our corporations, we have it in our movies, we have it in our knitting clubs, we have it everywhere. We need this shoved down out throats all the time. I have given up on sports and have moved on to watching liberals burn their cities. I find it ironic that a movement called "BLM" has caused the deaths of more black people (directly and indirectly via Covid/reduced police presence) than the KKK in the last century. Impressive.
So is the guy at the donut shop, I don’t wanna know his opinion on social or political issue either when i am getting donuts. Why is a ball player any different? It’s clear to me from your other post you have some kind of childish hero worship thing going on with the players and desire them to tell you how to think.
Please, religion and politics have been intertwined since mankind started. I seriously doubt a single Trump supporter would complain if something of their political nature was displayed during a sporting event.
It has never been like this, but then you know that I would guess. You are just attempting to normalized it. What of a conservative political nature is displayed in sports? I've not seen a thing.
Don't speak for me, I have normalized nothing. As the other poster stated, Tim Tebow's actions were lauded by the religious right. As far as times like this, that's life, society is always changing, good, bad, and indifferent.
The difference is players are known by thousands or millions and Johnny the Donut boy is known by maybe 20 folks. Folks like you should never talk about anybody having a childish hero worship. There were black athletes that I looked up to growing up.
Correct and the majority are watching, so if you and 2 other folks stop watching it is a drop in the bucket.
I know the majority of those men are not your heroes, you probably long for men like Ty Cobb and the lot.
Not a single one of my heroes in a athlete. Not one. See that good looking guy that is my avatar? James Butler Bonham, Alamo defender. More of a hero than anybody who ever played a game for a living. And you have a never heard of him. My heroes all risked life and limb in defense of freedom, their worse day did not end in a hurt knee or a lost game.
I was excited about MLB then I turned on a game saw those spineless wimps kneeling turned it off and I am done for the year. I really don't think i will miss it much. I expect the ******* in the NFL will do the same thing. I guess the major leagues are somehow expecting the BLM crowd to belly up and buy their $200 and $300 game jerseys. They missed the part I guess where the BLM'ers just smash and grab and forget to pay for such items. Good luck MLB you are going to need it.
