JUST A THOUGHT


Obviously, existing laws are not delivering the preventative measures people expect them to deliver & it's unlikely that more laws would do any better

So, rather than enhance the number of laws, why not increase the number of people required to make them more effective.

I'm not talking about more police, increasing police powers or arsenals but:

Please consider that there are tens of thousands of Military Veterans with extensive experience with firearms & stressful situations.

Why not try a form of deputizing some of these trained individuals who already have Concealed Weapons Permits (C.W.P.), cell phones etc on a part time basis to be paid (or not) by the hour what many CWP holders do voluntarily; prevent or minimize mass shootings?

Each "deputized" Veteran would keep a journal of how long they were in a public setting and have some form of identification with hourly payment / compensation* to be determined. Naturally some form of screening would take place.

Just as there are paid & Volunteer Firemen & Rescue personnel, these individuals would serve as supplemental, partial police officers w/o uniforms with clearly defined & limited rolls to minimize or deter the carnage like the ones currently occurring.

While I know that "the devil is in the details", I simply see combat trained Military Veterans as an untapped resource in confronting a growing problem with few other solutions.


Naturally, I'm interested in other opinions for a program like this

I don't agree with that estimation as it is too early to tell and there is no motive there for any Muslims to attack a disability conference. Now this is even more speculation but it could also be some right wing anti vaccine activist. Again no one knows yet...

California Gun control laws are the wet dreams of the Banoid organizations like the Vile Propaganda Center and the Brady Conspiracy against Constitutional rights. Yet those idiotic gun restrictions on honest people completely failed to stop a mass shooting. What will the banoid groups do? reevaluate their banoid goals and admit that punishing honest people doesn't stop criminals? Of course not because their goal is NOT pubic safety but banning guns. And of course, the only answer from the banoid organizations and politicians are more idiotic restrictions on good people

The current tactics used by ISIS and those influenced by ISIS is to hit soft targets. The least likely to be able to defend themselves. I'd say a disability conference where no one would be armed would be a perfect target. It seems so random, so low on the probable target list, that now no one knows who will get hit next. In short, it terrorizes. As far as anti vaccine activist, all I have to say is... what?!?!?! Now THAT is far fetched.

Lets start from the beginning. Do more guns = less mass shooting.

This isn't about banning guns for me. This about people living in the fantasy world that more guns = less mass shootings.

I'm willing to except the fact that having lots of guns in the country means we are going to have the most firearm homicides of any 1st country in the world.
It's those that think the 2.5 million new firearms sold to the public each year do not contribute at all the above.

Twas speculation that caused the great depression, but that's a different subject all together. We are currently at a point in this certain news story where there is very very few facts.
Fact #1: A shooting occurred
Fact #2: It took place in a building which was being rented out to the cities public health department
And that's pretty much all we can say definitively right now.

Now the ridiculous part of developing our own narratives as to who done it. Some may say lunatics off their meds, some may say homegrown terrorists (be it Islamic or otherwise, again we don't know), and some may also say that it was again a right wing extremist. But alas no one knows yet.
