Let us use conservative numbers: 30% of the US population owns guns according to Guns

That gives us a number of gun owners as 93,600,000.

There were 21,175 suicides, and approximately 500 accidents. There were approximately 11,000 murders. If we assume that all murders, suicides, and accidents were people injured with their own weapons you get .03%

That includes the murder total as well keep in mind. Most murders aren't going to be someone killed with their own gun. Removing that from the number gives .02%

Of course we assume each and every suicide was a gun owned by the person, but some may have simply been a gun they gained access to.

This is using the most conservative number for gun owners, if we expanded it to the most liberal numbers, it becomes 45% of the population, and this reduces it to .01% of the total number of gun owners that get hurt by their own weapons.

(Please note that's 11,000 murders TOTAL, not just the ones in the home. Using the figure above of 71% had a criminal history, that cuts the total number of innocents down to 3,190 murders, and that's still including all murders, not just those in the home.)
