Since we are moving towards renewables there - not really an issue

You obviously haven't seen the horror of what you call renewable. It's cleverly being kept from you, but if you were more informed, as a planet saving liberal you'd be outraged. But like I said, it's intentionally being hidden from you because you're more useful if you're ignorant.

Casablanca was filmed on a studio lot in California. I think all of Blackhawk Down was filmed there though.

You really are uninformed or willingly ignorant. If you saw the environmental nightmare of creating 'renewable' energy then you wouldn't be laughing. Of course you obediently believe what you're told which should embarrass you as not having the ability to form your own opinion based on the reality of the situation. But of course you know more than I do based on your career of putting salt on fries than I do who works in the field.

And burning coal is good? dirty air is good? the waste from coal mines polluting water is good? what is the cost of that to the American taxpayer?

    http://www.strata.org/unseencosts/coal/

On the fossil fuel front, natural gas is kicking coals ass , coal is dying along with all that goes with it .

    http://www.mining.com/us-coal-industry-decline-even-2017-ieefa/

The future isn't a bunch of hillbillies rooting around in the ground for coal, no matter how much you want it to be so

Those days are gone as is the buggy an whip

Why don't you move there and take Hillary with you. She could be your president then.

Very cool.. India is doing the same thing. Everyone wants a cleaner environment. Well, almost everyone. Americans will be raptured before climated goes critical.

“Africa has tremendous potential for solar generation that remains largely untapped,” said Sameh Mobarek, World Bank project manager. The new plant will power over one million homes by 2018 and reduce carbon emissions by an estimated 760,000 tons per year, according to the Climate Investment Funds (CIF) finance group. Here are the benefits they note:

    • The plant will reduce carbon emissions by 760,000 tons per year, which could result in an estimated reduction of over 17.5 million tons of carbon emissions over 25 years.
    • The share of renewable energy in total electricity generation is expected to increase from 4,345 GWh (13%) in 2013 to a target of 5,501 GWh (42%) by 2020.
    • Energy dependency should be reduced through additional electricity production from the 160 MW Noor I and the 350 MW Noor II and III in 2018.
    • Reaching Morocco’s true energy efficiency potential will prospectively pave the way for economic growth and ultimately generate employment.

Excess heat is stored in huge salt filled vats and can be used to generate heat for up to 6hrs after the sun goes down.
The plant is situated in the Sahara desert where clouds are rarer than a sensible Trump policy.
Also this is not a tower type plant where 1000s of mirrors are directed on a single point which can affect birds which fly in front of it. Each mirror directs sunlight onto an oil filled pipe only a couple of feet in front of it so birds are not affected in the same way.
Solar energy is advancing in efficiency all the time but for the sake of a few thousand coal miner votes Trump wants the US to get left behind.
Coal is the energy source of the 19th century, solar is the future.

In 15 years Morocco will get 50% of its energy from renewables.. What's our plan?

Pander to the fossil fuel lobbyists who helped elect Trump and continue to pollute the atmosphere to keep a few thousand coal miners happy at the expense of everyone else.
