What I was trying to say is that corruption isn't the result of poverty, but rather the cause of poverty. I'm thinking of Greece here, which really shouldn't be poor.

Because the Greek people are highly educated and successful in the countries they have immigrated to. In the U.S. they are the second wealthiest ethnic group, (after the Jews of course), as well as the most highly educated. Greece though has made some really bad mistakes. One was to put in a socialist system, when it's customary to grant favors towards relatives and friends. It was bound to be misused. Anyway I could go on and on...
