And you are dodging but that's okay. It's fairly transparent. You've only been given one talking point and that is that they violated the law and that's why they are being separated from their children but when someone points out that not every violation of law results in separating child from parent you have no response because you haven't thought beyond that talking point. In order to have a good debate we both need to address the others points. You asked if I heard of immigration law, well seeing as I'm the son of immigrants and the father of a child born in another country to a citizen of that country I can tell you I know immigration law pretty well. I'm wondering what violation of immigration law requires separating families for months at a time? And before you respond with well they broke the law, I'd refer you back to my point that braking most traffic laws doesn't get your kids taken away so stating violation of law isn't a reasoned argument.

 

Violating an international border is not the same as trespassing. The first offense of illegal entry is a misdemeanor, the second a felony with hard time. They seem not to care, because we don't seem to care enough, as we have been so stupidly ignorant of the consequences in the past, and allowed them (any many Americans) to think there is no harm. Of course, at one time it was common to shoot trespassers. We don't shoot illegals crossing the borders. Do we need to rethink that to get their attention?
That would be wrong- just as ignoring the consequences of illegal entry is wrong.

Diluting the seriousness of this crime by comparing it to walking across your neighbors yard is ludicrous. Such people are not casually and temporarily passing- they are taking possession of your property without permission or bothering to ask for it. They come to move in permanently- not to visit.

Not once did they mention these kids illegally tried to enter nor the status of the parents NOT greeting them because they’re illegal also. They even said it’s only due to Trumps recent policy.
