My statement was to the post which presented the US Revolution as introducing/ensuring democracy to the US.
Just read up a bit and follow the recent conversation.

    Against tyranny? No.
What was the American revolution? Self defense or armed insurrection?

So where did YOU learn about the American revolution?
I learned it in the US school system.
I used to confuse the two concepts too, as back then, the revolution was touted as the birth of democracy blah blah.
It wasn't and democracy didn't really come into being until the early 20th century when women got the vote.

Well as I remember it, no one was attacking settlers, just taxing them, so I would suggest armed insurrection against not having a voice in the laws which were applied to them.

    WRONG! Again...:bored:
I "support" nothing in her statement.
I "deflect" from nothing in her statement.
And, what is with the "you folks" BS?:bored:
As always, I speak ONLY for Myself.
Thus, such a "conclusion" is gravely mistaken.
(As is usually the case when one makes an Epically-FAILED attempt to project one's gravely mistaken fantasies about what others may be thinking).:bored:
    1) I abhor violence in all of it's forms.
    2) She was clearly speaking "metaphorically"
    3) I had never even heard of her before this thread

Anybody who has a problem with her statement can Boycott MSNBC until they fire her.
    ^Problem solved.

And, once again, it is clear that some of the RW wishes that this"Hey Lookie! Tiffany Cross!" Story would blow up to be covered more extensively than 9/11.
BUT, the only people who seem to care enough to cover this unfathomable outrage are from Fox News.
    Google "Tiffany Cross".
The only people even covering this are Faux News.
Even Comedy Outlets like OAN and Newsmax consider it a complete non-story.

If you say so :) But you miss the point!

The whole point I was making was, if not for a gun, the entire scenario would have ended far differently. Correct me if I'm wrong but the British were certainly armed with more than quill, correct ;)

Deflection noted, lets just move on ;)

Even more amazing that you extracted "offended" from this. This was a stupid statement that could easily drive someone close to the edge to commit acts of violence. It is ironic coming from someone who supports big government and less freedom. The funny part is when liberals go to the gun store and have to go through the process. Oops, sorry, you cannot purchase a gun because you have the same name as someone on our list!

The Constitutional Convention did that, and what it gave us was a Democratic Republic. An actual democracy in a country the size of the original USA would have been completely impossible even today, let alone back then.

The Constitution merely coded the shape/form of your democratic system. Among other things.
In practise it took a long time to actually fully exist.

I am not aware that the British soldiers attacked the settlers first. In fact they used to protect them from any nasty Indians.
It was the settlers who first "attacked" the British state.
The soldiers weren't trying to subdue the settlers or change their fledgling "democracy".

Sounds like what you hear from pro 2nd a people daily. I guess you’d find this one very troubling:
The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.

    AH!
You object to my not getting involved in a propaganda war where keyboard warriors battle out dimly understood history and contradictory terms.
No thanks. I'll just watch the show.

Sure, get your guns. But your side is dead against them. That makes your side, surprise surprise surprise, hypocritical.

    Let's get this straight.
What I objected to was your misinformation which stated that the US Revolution was about establishing democracy.
Now that you understand that it did not, we can move on.

LMFAO @ Tiffany Cross and the rest of the delusional progs waging an imaginary war "for the safety and lasting of the country" they want to "fundamentally transform" (i.e., destroy).

It's comical to watch those clowns take themselves seriously...

And now that I think about it, Tiff's a regular Shakespeare, too:

    "lasting of the country"

I do not hear "pick up a weapon and go to war". If a liberal shoots at me and I ever find out about it, there will be trouble!

    1. Everything you just said would be happening under Biden. Blame him.
    2. Everyone knows midterms don’t favor the party in the WH, we say that all the time.
    3. It only took a few months before even the friendly left wing media said the midterms will be a bloodbath. At least 23 democrats have announced they’re not running again.
    4. In reference #3, see Virginia
    5. Instead of voting for competence and mean Tweets you chose to vote for incompetence, check boxes , higher taxes, higher gas prices, dead soldiers, inflation, empty shelves and weakness on the world stage.
    6. Much of the left’s argument for not re electing came down to the China virus. The left ignored how he tried to keep it out of the country and was called a racist for it. Then Pelosi and de Blasio told people to go visit their cities. So you blame Trump for the virus but what you can’t blame him for are the Delta and Omicron variants that Biden let into this country.
    7. Biden, after hammering Trump about the virus, punted it to the states.
    8. The left can’t scream about vaccines, masks and closed schools all why they let 2,000,000 infected, unvaccinated and symptomatic illegals into this country and then shipped them to mostly red states. How many did Hawaii get?

You add up all of the above and only a fool would vote for more of the same.

Says the group of cheer leaders when a VP candidate called for people like her to exercise 2A rights. Hypocrites those supporters are.
