I don't disagree that they should have picked up a phone before publishing her Tweet, but this one incident, which they addressed, does not make them scummy.

I'm sure that in your opinion, that is so.

A lie is intentional. CNN made a mistake- a mistake they took responsibility for making and corrected it publicly. They are being accountable.

The problem I see with the attempted discrediting of all media is, eventually no one will believe anything from the news media at all. Once that happens, our government will be free to do anything without any accountability. That's fascism. Attempting to discredit the free press is fascism, and unConstitutional, since the free press is a first amendment right and critical to democracy.

News agencies are made of humans, so there are always going to be mistakes made. Some take responsibility for their mistakes and others never do. No one news agency is going to be able to cover everything correctly 100% of the time, so the responsibility for being informed is on the individual. There are many places and formats to get news now. People need to read and view a variety to see differing perspectives on how the news is reported, and draw their own conclusions. We're taught to do that in school. We're taught fact from opinion and propaganda techniques, beginning in elementary school…. for this very reason, to be well-informed citizens.

If I have to choose between what dozens of media outlets are saying versus what a self-promoting government leader with very thin skin is saying, I'll take the former. Otherwise what we get is a dictator like in any other authoritarian regime. I know, some of you want that, but most Trump voters do not and they'll wise up to it before long.

How is an audit like propaganda? How is denouncing people propaganda? Even your alleged computer hacking does not qualify as propaganda. Not one of these examples is about presenting a lie to large groups of people and persuading them that it's true. That is propaganda, and that was the centerpiece of Trump's campaign and appears to be the centerpiece of his presidency.

I knew Trump would be embarrassing for our country, but I'd hoped he'd at least put his head down and try to do the job. Instead it looks like he's going to be more worried about manipulating his image in the minds of those who elected him. It's almost an impossible task when you think about it, because those who opposed him already see him for what he is and will not be turned. Among his voters there are already a good portion feeling deep regret in the pits of their stomachs. Trump's idiotic tweets will not be enough to keep them in the dark for four years.

CNN gets busted for fake news on a regular basis and even had a major contributor busted for colluding with Hillary and giving her debate questions in advance.
