Nearly One Quarter Of Likely Republican Voters Would Prefer To Dump Trump

In a perfect world we’d have a perfect president but in the real world it’s going to be Trump or Biden. Trump isn’t perfect but Biden doesn’t even know where he is half the time so Trump is the only logical choice.
As for the poll itself it’s meaningless without similar polls on other presidents to compare it to and I don’t think this type of question has ever been asked about any other sitting presidents but your own poll does say even more democrats would rather have someone besides nominee Biden so the poll is worse for Biden than Trump

 

Obviously, Rasmussen had some rationale for asking the question.

For me it just shoots a hole in the narrative that all Republicans are happy with Trump and he's going to cruise to re-election.

 

Bidens number in the poll are even worse so I wouldn’t get too excited. Rarely if ever are voters unanimous in their party’s candidate

 

Trump isn't a Republican. He's a 3rd party populist Nationalist. Of course a lot of mainstream Republicans aren't happy.

 

I think it's safe to say that any Dems or Independents that voted for Trump are seriously rethinking that strategy after witnessing the shitshow of the last few months. Remember, those aren't voters like you that drink the Kool Aid daily (and I mean that only in that Trump can do no wrong in your eyes), rather they were/are voters looking for competent leadership. And there is no way to describe Trump as "competent" unless you are fully submerged in the cult.

 

Acknowledged. But Biden doesn't have a cult that worships him. And this poll shows that the Trump cult may be shedding members.

 

It would be interesting to know what the results of this poll would have been four years ago. Much worse I suspect and people like me held their nose and voted for Trump anyway because the alternative then as now is not acceptable. I’ve been pleasantly surprised by Trump and am fully onboard now.

 

The Trump cult is a figment of the lefts imagination unlike Obama and Clinton who democrats did and do worship. Conservatives are policy based not personality based and it’s his policies we “worship” not the man.

You have any scientific proof for that? Wishful thinking? I have yet to have a Trump supporter tell me that they aren't going to vote for him this time around. You know why that is? My guess is that people who vote for Trump are not going to vote for a socialist or a guy who gets down on his knees and tells Bernie " go ahead and drop your pants so I can kiss you all over and you will deliver those votes wont you?" The country has nothing to gain with a Biden victory except misery and destruction.

 

Yep. I have been surprised that he has kept most of he campaign promises and accomplished a lot of good, in spite of the House. I didn't vote for him in 2016, but he's earned my vote in 2020. I'd still be happier if Melania would take his "Twitter Box" away some days. Anyway, I'll take actions over personality any day. Biden has neither one going for him, as far as I'm concerned.

 

Trump fights back and sometimes I think he shouldn’t but Bush took the high ground and didn’t get down in the mud with democrats and they drug his numbers into the 20 percent range so Trump may feel he has no choice.

 

I don't think he wanted this job until he got it. He has no reason to be politically correct to impress anyone. People either like what he's trying to accomplish or they don't.

He'd be much happier golfing, producing The Apprentice, and marketing his hotel brand. He's doing an amazing job in spite of all the grief he has taken as a political outsider.

 

Every four years we get this Chicken Little nonsense that if the other guy wins we are doomed.

58 times in our history we have transferred power from one administration to the next (with quite a few serving two terms). Some presidents have been better than others, but even with a truly crappy president (Trump) the Republic has survived, and will go on to survive whatever yahoo from the Left or Right the powers that be decide to nominate.

That's just a fact. A Biden presidency will be no different if it comes to that.

 

When is a Republican going to take responsibility for their own administration.

While you may disagree, the adults in the room recognize that Bush's presidency was his to own.

You and I are looking at things through a different prism. And I feel confident Trump and the Deplorables will celebrate on the Election Day.
