Maybe people should not listen to the media.
If they are so wrong about everything. And if they are so wrong about everything, people will stop listening to them. And then they go out of business because they can't sell advertising.
You see, the media, is the same as a walmart. Selling a product.

Why not? They have the airwaves for radio signals. Which the general public has access to.
Cable TV companies broadcast them on virtually every tv in the country.
So how do they NOT reach the general public?

I am obviously more cynical than you.

What's the saying? No one ever went broke by underestimating the intelligence of the average person?

If "liberals" in the conventional sense (Nancy Pelosi, etc.) are not leftists, what type of politician would be a leftist? Can you name a leftist?

This is a serious question, not a flame.

Specifying "mainstream media" instead of all media isn't an example of bias ---- they literally were polling about mainstream media. Not all media, not right-wing media, not extremist blogs and websites (on both sides), but specifically mainstream media.

As for "racial, gender and political lines", if that triggers you that is a reflection on you, not on the poll or "right-wingers". There is no way to spin that into a dog whistle. The same with claiming "major role" is a dog whistle, or "hate" is a right-wing word ---- that's just nuts.

I'll give you credit for your amazing spinning and reaching, but you're so far out in left field....

As to the poll...... For what it's worth, I agree entirely, the mainstream media has played a major role in dividing Americans along racial, gender and political lines, and has spread hate and misunderstanding. Obama and the Democrats started that ball rolling, and the media ran with it.

    You must be young.

They did the same thing to G. W. Bush.

They tried with Reagan, but failed.

    They succeeded with Nixon...

I have no doubt that's true since you folks use the spewers of hate as your primary news sources.

They give an excuse for leftists to claim rightists are trying to build the fourth reich out of 'lets make government smaller.'

    That's how they work.

And the last tax bill was making government smaller?

The fact is this: the GOP is a right wing Progressive Big Government Party.

Letting people keep more of what they earn is a foundation of smaller government

Horse crap, period. Unfunded tax cuts that breaks the economy, which will happen, is the antithesis of smaller government. Some far righties have never taken finance, government, or economics classes.

The media isn't present in this thread, so who is it really pushing the divide?

What we have here are people PARROTING the lies and propaganda of the media.

In March 2018, the Omnibus Spending Bill was PASSED by dems. More than half senate (R)s voted AGAINST IT. Only a few senate dems voted AGAINST IT.

Here is a list of the 32 Senators who voted against the Omnibus spending bill:
    Barrasso (R-Wyo.)
    Booker (D-N.J.)
    Cassidy (R-La.)
    Corker (R-Tenn.)
    Cotton (R-Ark.)
    Crapo (R-Idaho)
    Cruz (R-Tex)
    Daines (R-Mont.)
    Enzi (R-Wyo.)
    Ernst (R-Iowa)
    Feinstein (D-Calif.)
    Fischer (R-Neb.)
    Flake (R-Ariz.)
    Gardner (R-Colo.)
    Gillibrand (D-N.Y.)
    Grassley (R-Iowa)
    Harris (D-Calif.)
    Johnson (R-Wisc.)
    Kennedy (R-La.)
    Lankford (R-Okla.)
    Lee (R-Utah)
    Markey (D-Mass.)
    McCaskill (D-Mo.)
    Merkley (D-Ore.)
    Paul (R-Ky.)
    Perdue (R-Ga.)
    Risch (R-Idaho)
    Sanders (I-Vt.)
    Sasse (R-Neb.)
    Sullivan (R-Alaska)
    Tillis (R-N.C.)
    Warren (D-Mass.)

    Senators Not Voting:
    Burr (R-N.C.)
    McCain (R-Ariz.)
    Toomey (R-Pa.)

    Get a grip on reality.

Then that is the fault of those media stations. They don't provide honest correct information that people believe.
But the public has access to those stations, so the other poster is wrong.

Based on the bias of the poll. Its really 72% of RWers who think that.
Most normal Americans aren't blaming the media.
