You speak of "curing Democrats of telling lies".

    Cure yourself first.

    Let's test:
Who made the deal with the Taliban ?
Who lost the free and fair election ?

These are not of topic. If you can't affirm what real and true, then your posts here are false and you have nothing to contribute to the topic at hand.

It was lost before Bush started it. It was unwinnable.

    Wrong questions.
Who over the past 7 full months is dealing with the Taliban?
Who lost the past election. And who is resisting all audits?

what should he of said, the Afghan army is weak, the Taliban could win easy... nothing like telling our enemy to attack if he had done that

be like saying, "that house has a million dollars worth of diamonds" and no security

you don't tell the enemy those kinda things

Yeah, Id say at most Biden hastened the inevitable. Certainly could of had a much more effective exit, but even if done flawlessly, the Afghan army still would of dissolved as soon as confronted. I havent even heard of any significant battles occurring. Im sure there were some but for the most part the Afghan army surrendered to the Taliban without any fight.
And its now their "Islamic Emirate". Guess we should be thankful they didnt go for another Islamic Caliphate and Calif.

????? Senators are skilled at winning elections and voting yes or no. Vice Presidents less than that. Id say thats terrible experience to head the administration of a nation as large as the US.

The problem is the botched extraction of 10-11k Americans and all the translators and journalists that need to get out.
Even if they need to send in Marines, there needs to be a corridor opened up for extraction now.
After Taliban have taken everything. That makes it harder.
    The Taliban are hard fighters.
Le groan. All the NEW equipment left there that China and Russia will be able to tinker with.
I'm not going to post what I'm thinking because this is my country.

Senators are skilled at lying, corruption, insider trading, and taking lobbyist money (bribes).
They are the most corrupt branch of US government.
They really need reigned in. They rule the country like Feudal Lords.
It will take an Article V convention, because they won't vote themselves out of all that bribe money.
I don't have that much faith in humanity to believe they would.
That only came to be in the late 70s+ late 80s.

exactly. This was wrong from the start. You don't invade a nation as revenge for a TERRORIST attack.......... particularly when the leader of that attack is not even there. It was not going to end well........because the folks you are dealing with are of a different culture. religion and values. The Taliban never fought by the same rules of war as the US / Afghans. did. They're savages ........ with o scruples........ and will destroy themselves to win. They are fanatics of the worst kind.

There is enough blame to go around several and things are at an emotion high pitch at the moment............

Let's cut our losses........gracefully............ get as many out as is possible and as quickly as is possible........... and get out of that county.

We must not allow ourselves to be held emotionally hostage to anyone after this mess...............as it is not helpful.

But the US had better NOT START another war ........ as it has a bad history from doing that. A lot needs to be learned from this............about ourselves too.

I'm very confused. Where was she when Trump reduced US troop levels to just 2,500 allowing the Taliban to take over much of the country? Where was she when Trump negotiated a peace deal with the Taliban promising a withdrawal from Afghanistan?

She was all for negotiating with Taliban to pull US troops out. That was a hip thing to support when Trump pushed for it. She wasn't alone, because most US public supported it too, especially Trump supporters, but Democrats did too. Those who opposed pull-out were labeled "war-hawks". Personally I opposed it, so I guess I was a war-hawk. Now that its done, and now that we know the Afghans sold their country out to the Taliban and handed over US supplied equipment, I think it was the right thing to do. Obviously neither Trump or Biden knew that was going to happen.

    Exactly.

‘A massive policy fail’: CIA warned White House of swift Taliban takeover

    ...

[Douglas London, the CIA’s former counter-terrorism chief for south and south-west Asia] said that both Donald Trump and Biden had made decisions to leave for political and ideological reasons and were ultimately impervious to intelligence briefings on possible outcomes.

“The decision Trump made, and Biden ratified, to rapidly withdraw US forces came despite warnings projecting the outcome we’re now witnessing. And it was a path to which Trump and Biden allowed themselves to be held captive owing to the ‘ending Forever Wars’ slogan they both embraced,” London argued.
